App Spot

Hello Bloggers, I’m Imran, CEO & co-founder at App Spot. If you've always wanted an app for your blog, but couldn't justify the investment, we have an exciting new option for you. This news will be especially relevant if you're a blogger, seeking to grow a larger following and build a loyal mobile audience. Here’s the backstory: For the first 6 months of our development, we focused exclusively on bloggers--people whose full-time job was related to blogging. We realized there was a large community of creators who were very interested in making an app for their blog, but many couldn’t afford it. So we worked for months to build something exciting for creators. We’re excited to introduce App Spot - make an app for your blog, on the spot. Here’s why you should consider App Spot: #1: Native App for Blog- Bloggers with mobile apps have noticed a significant increase in the number of readers and subscribers to their blog updates. As per Nielson, 89% users prefer the mobile apps, compared to mobile web. They also spend 60% more time on the app. #2: Your Blog needs an app: If you’re interested in growing your audience, monetizing your following, and refining your craft, this is your ticket. "I have a blog called WheelsGuru and have been thinking about an app for my readers for quite some time. AppSpot came across as a blessing,” said Travel & Bike Blogger - Shah Nawaz Karim. #3: No Coding, No App Management, No Bug Fixing: Imagine your this as a completely managed app. You get an app of your blog, we fix the bugs, we code it for you, we update it with new features. All you have to do is... Nothing! “Oh my gosh, Practically the best and simplest app maker. I made my app for my fashion blog in less than 5 minutes. Great job!,” said Fashion Blogger Shaina Ladiwala. Does this sound interesting? Here’s all you need to do: 1) Simply click here to download App Spot. 2) Sign in with your WordPress credentials. 3) Select a theme and complete the flow. Now’s your chance to see what you’ve been missing. I hope to see your app soon! Imran A.L. Founder, App Spot

HI @imranladiwala , It appears to be an amazing product at relatively lower, non-recurring price and with a different functionality module as opposed to other competitors who use plugins to map the app. It is actually filling a gap between non-tech WP bloggers and app makers. Few things: 1. Currently, you support just one app with a purchase. The purchase appears to be coming with lifetime updates and support. True? 2. By making an app, you mean 'providing the .APK'. We still need to have our own account on Play Store to publish it there or you will publish it with your play store account? Things are not clear at all after app building stage. Kindly make it more clear. 3. Since it's not a free app and users are actually paying for it. So, it must be white-labeled tool like any premium WordPress theme, where there will be no mention of your brand or logo on the front it. Right? 4. Currently, there is very limited themes available. Actually, with the advancement in the web technology, nobody wants to work on theme-based approach where all site looks same. More and more themes are being enabled with drag-and-drop theme builder framework to be able to design our own unique features like Divi or Visual Composer. Are you planning for any drag-and-drop builder in the near future? 5. Your app appears is in beta phase currently. I believe you must look for a group of serious beta testers to give you feedbacks for their real live websites, before starting charging for it. As I said above, the early bird pricing is indeed lucrative but that should be an 'early bird' pricing, not beta testing pricing. I hope you understand the difference. :) Some feedback for the website: Footer text " We convert your blog to a native app, on the spot" - is unnecessarily linked to a page which gives 404 error. Remove it. The social icons on the support page - http://www.getappspot.com/support/ is not linked correctly except that of Twitter. Correct it. :) Your drift chat button at the bottom says ' Message me for the coupon' but sadly you haven't offered any direct discount coupon during your @producthunt release, which is usually a trend here. May be you should give it a thought. :) Thank you. Looking forward.

@producthunt @niteshmanav Hey Nitish, Firstly, I appreciate your detailed feedback and approval on the product thought process. You get it bang-on!. This product is made for non-techies to jump the bandwagon of apps. We also do NOT charge a monthly recurring fee. It's a one-time fee. My comments inline: 1. Currently, you support just one app with a purchase. The purchase appears to be coming with lifetime updates and support. True? Imran - That's correct. All future updates and bug fixes are taken care by us. We think bloggers should focus on marketing their app rather than getting in the vicious cycle of building it. 2. By making an app, you mean 'providing the .APK'. We still need to have our own account on Play Store to publish it there or you will publish it with your play store account? Things are not clear at all after app building stage. Kindly make it more clear. Imran - That's right. We will email you the link. You still need to upload it from your play store account. We want you to have complete control of your app in the play store for maximum growth. 3. Since it's not a free app and users are actually paying for it. So, it must be a white-labeled tool like any premium WordPress theme, where there will be no mention of your brand or logo on the front it. Right? Imran - It's a complete white-labeled app that belongs to you. No App Spot branding on it. Imran - We are building an app maker for non-techies. We've made sure that my 10 year old daughter and my 80 year old father should be able to create an app. Drag and drop was not the most efficient way. We chose 'tapping' in the opposite of 'drag and drop'. We do plan to add 3 themes and 5 effects every month. :) Imran - I am more than open to having beta testers for App Spot. Any one interested please drop me an email on imran@getappspot.com and I'd offer not only beta access but access to forth-coming features. On the feedback on the website, i'll change it right away. Thanks once again.
