Hey all,
I’m Rick, the founder of Apozy. We’re a YCombinator backed company in the current(W2017) batch and we've created a browser extension that stops people from getting hacked by things like phishing and malware.
Phishing and next-gen web based attacks are enormous problems for everyone. You probably receive multiple phishing emails a day that attempt to steal your credentials or get your private info. Companies and governments experience the same thing(see Target and John Podesta). With Apozy, you can make every click safer and protect your privacy at the same time.
Over the course of YC, we’ve been busy building our solution to the phishing problem. Apozy’s browser extension immunizes you against phishing and malware attacks. The current approach of blacklisting sites just can't keep up with hackers. Instead, Apozy analyzes your browsing habits to stop you from entering data into suspicious sites that don't fit your usage patterns. We also aim to protect privacy by providing objective site privacy ratings, stopping trackers, and upgrading connections to HTTPS. Apozy is currently free to download on the Chrome store and soon will be on Firefox.
Feel free to reach out with any questions!
@rickdeaconx Very excited about this one! I already use ABP and Disconnect. How would Apozy work together with these or is meant to replace one or both of them? Thanks!
@seanhunt We actually would work along side both of those! ABP is good for cosmetic ad blocking and Disconnect is good for blocking trackers - where we fit is the ability to keep you protected from attacks and let you know about site privacy. In the future, we will likely include an adblock of our own!
