We are happy that Raz has found our AbEXP project. Hope you'll try it out :)
It was born out of the growing dissatisfaction with online banner ads. According to Business Insider in 2017, 615 million devices use ad blocking technology, while 11% of the global internet population were blocking ads on the web. Remarkable statistics that inspired us to do something about this - the general banner fatigue - and create a music-based statement as a response.
We also hope that this audio/visual experiment is seen as a fun hack and an input into the discussion on how online media and advertisers, as well as artists, could act in the future. Try to think out of the (banner) box.
In the end this project (and ad block technology) might not end up as a future platform for music-making or distribution. However, wee hope that AbEXP - besides being a nice sounding break from annoying ads - could be the starting point of a dialogue that inspires people to explore alternatives to the status quo.
