The Agora API enables developers to search, purchase, and track orders for 10 million products sold on 25,000 Shopify and WooCommerce stores. We provide a complete set of endpoints to power an end-to-end shopping experience in your app.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Param, founder of Agora.
Agora is an AI search engine for e-commerce products. We've indexed 10 million products sold on 25,000 Shopify and WooCommerce stores and made them easy to purchase with a single cart transaction. Think of a decentralized Amazon. We launched the search engine and merchant app on Product Hunt a few weeks ago and received incredible feedback and support from the community.
Today I’m excited to launch the Agora API, a complete set of endpoints to power an end-to-end shopping experience. The Agora API enables developers to search, purchase, and track orders for 10 million products sold on 25,000 Shopify and WooCommerce stores. You can search by text, image, URL, or location to find products that your users are looking for.
Why use the Agora API?
🔸 We save you time from having to index millions of products across thousands of stores.
🔸 We take care of payment routing to stores with AI agents and provide you with detailed order tracking.
🔸 We refresh the entire dataset every 24 hours to keep variant and stock information up to date.
The Agora API is free to test. After that, we charge a subscription fee of $2,490 / month for up to 10,000 monthly search requests or $4,490 / month for unlimited monthly search requests. After you subscribe, we send you an automated email with your provisioned API key and onboarding information.
We provide documentation and 24 / 7 support to all developers at support@searchagora.com. This includes helping with an order, issuing refunds, and exchanging products.
What are use-cases for the Agora API?
🔹 AI training data
🔹 Marketplaces
🔹 Shopping assistants
🔹 Live shopping experiences
🔹 Search & discovery tools
🔹 Wallets
🔹 Vertical SaaS
I originally launched Agora as a side project on HackerNews to find a pair of red shoes for my wife last Christmas. I quickly realized that some of the best products on the internet are sold by small online stores that struggle to get the same visibility as large retailers. I started Agora on a mission to democratize online commerce. If you sell the best pair of red shoes in the world, customers should be able to find it. With the Agora API, we're able to amplify this mission to other apps as well.
We're starting with Shopify and WooCommerce stores and will soon have products from other e-commerce platforms and marketplaces including Amazon, Walmart, Etsy, Temu, Squarespace, Wix, and more.
I'd love your feedback!
👋 Product Hunt! I’m Alessandro, Head of Growth at Agora.
Have you considered adding a shopping experience for you app? It can be an additional growth strategy for your service.
With the Agora API, integrating e-commerce shopping becomes seamless, empowering services to unlock new opportunities for engagement and revenue, and create new growth loops.
Here’s why it should matter for services in all verticals:
🔹 All-in-one user experience: Consolidating services like shopping within your app creates a frictionless, user-centered journey. It boosts engagement and minimizes the chances of users leaving your ecosystem.
🔹 Boost retention with incentives: Features like cashback and rewards are more than just perks - they’re proven drivers of user loyalty and repeat interactions, helping you build a stronger, more engaged community.
🔹 Gain deeper user insights: Shopping behavior offers invaluable data about your users’ preferences, enabling you to refine your product pipeline, enhance your roadmap, and deliver personalized experiences that truly resonate.
🔹 Differentiate your app: E-commerce functionality provides a competitive edge, enabling your app to stand out by offering unique value that few others can match.
Agora’s API is designed to make all of this achievable with minimal development effort, so you can focus on scaling and delivering real value to your users. So tell us, what shopping experiences will you build to boost your business?
Thank you @masump! The API endpoints are designed to be generic, but they are flexible in terms of what you can build with them. We’ve seen it used across different industries/usecases, from search engines to digital wallets. You can check out the docs here for more details: https://docs.searchagora.com/api...
@param_jaggi This is an exciting concept! With so many Shopify and WooCommerce stores indexed, how does Agora handle product availability and price fluctuations in real-time? Do sellers have any control over how their products appear in search results?
Thank you @fufuman13!
Every Shopify and WooCommerce store has publicly available routes to retrieve store, product, and inventory information. We use crawlers to index store and product information.
When you retrieve product details via the API, we dynamically check the price, stock, and variant information. This ensures that we only sell products that are currently available, at the real-time price. You can test this by clicking on any product in the Agora App to see how some will be marked as "Sold out" or specific variants won't be available to select.
Then we recrawl the entire dataset every day to add, edit, and delete products from all stores on Agora.
Sellers can sign up for an Agora Merchant account to track their analytics and verify products to optimize how their products rank in our search algorithm.
@param_jaggi3 That’s a really smart way to ensure accuracy and keep listings updated. Appreciate the detailed breakdown—excited to see how Agora evolves!
