6 months ago I started a new job and recently I've been helping with hiring! So... what's the standard YC advice? Use your network. And they're right! But asking "Who are the 5 best people you've worked with" or "Top 3 smartest people you know" 100 times to everyone you know is very inefficient. So, I tried LinkedIn... and it wasn't the best. Connections are like follower lists, Recommendations are fluffy (🤪 Great Communicator, Hard Worker) and there's no curation! Everyone hands out recommendations left and right! It was total noise...
