This Raspberry 4 based device bridges the gap between generations by allowing them to use the technology they feel comfortable communicating with each other.
Good beautiful morning fellow product hunters,
I discovered this product recently while browsing my Twitter feed and loved it because
1) it solves a big problem
2) it's open-source and
3) works with Privacy respective technologies
This Raspberry 4 based device bridges the gap between generations by allowing them to use the technology they feel comfortable communicating with each other.
The Yayagram has just two but powerful features:
+ Send voice messages via Telegram by just pressing a button on a hardware device.
+ Receive Telegram messages and physically print them on thermal paper.
▶ To send a new voice message, you need first to choose the destination grandchild; the selection is made using a Jack connector and then use microphone to record it and send it.
🖨 And, what happens when you send a text message back to your Granny? The Yayagram prints it on thermal paper to touch it and read it, like the old telegrams.
More information, tons of pictures, and useful resources are available in the Twitter thread.
Oh, everything is open-source, and the maker will publish the schematics and the code soon so that you could build one for your loved ones.
Have a fantastic day!
Call your grandparents and tell them you love them!
