Whist is the first browser equipped with cloud tabs, which offload any website’s processing to the cloud. When heavy websites eat up RAM or slow down your computer, you can activate cloud tabs at the click of a button.
Hi everyone!
I want to thank you all for your support and @chrismessina for hunting us. After two years of hard work we're excited to come out of the woods. All credit goes to our amazing team for reaching this milestone.
We built Whist to solve a problem very familiar to those that work in tech, finance, sales, and design: modern web apps are becoming heavier and dragging down people's productivity. Over the last two years we've tested Whist with thousands of users and have built the true no-compromise browser: a browser with cloud tabs that does not sacrifice any of the performance or security of a local browser.
Today, we're releasing Whist for macOS. Because cloud tabs require a server geographically close to you, cloud tabs are temporarily locked behind an invite code. When you download Whist and create an account, you'll automatically be put on shortlist to receive an invite. We're onboarding new people every week!
If you're on another operating system, please put your name down here: https://whist.typeform.com/to/ES.... We'll be supporting Windows in a few weeks.
To learn more about Whist, we've written a blog post that dives into the product, at https://whist.com/blog.
Happy browsing!
@chrismessina@philippemnoel Love the landing page design and product concept. Congrats on the launch. Discovered via Invincible Product Hunters Community (link in my bio). :)
@philippemnoel “cloud tabs are temporarily locked behind an invite code.” So right now there’s nothing for users without an invite code that makes Whist better than Brave, right?
@anna_0x We've made a few UI/UX modifications on top of it to (we believe) improve Brave's UX, but yes it is essentially very similar to Brave until you enable cloud tabs
