When Juan told me about Wavecation, I was like 'duh.' As an aspiring surfer, I need some guidance on where to stay when trying to find waves to my experience level. That's exactly what Wavecation does. Imagine always being a walk away from amazing surf every day.
Thanks for hunting us, Tristan!
Hey everyone! π
In the last few years, surf exploration online and offline (mostly online) has been one of my go-to procrastination activities. Daydreaming of that next surf trip, researching a new wave in a new townβfinding a place to stay, ideally walking distance from the surf, and everything else involved in this practice of riding ocean energy. Itβs a process that could keep me online for hours if not days at a time skipping from one online rabbit hole to the next. Almost a year ago we decided to build something for people like me, to make it easier to discover and book places to stay within walking distance of great surf. We built this with the focus being around the ocean, first and foremost.
Surf explorers 101:
- Filter by surf break skill level, wave type, wave direction, even swell direction (for those last-minute trips chasing a swell)
- Curated images and videos for every surf break
- List of all the surf breaks near that property
Coming soon...
- More surf specific data around your dates of travel (avg swell, avg temp/rain)
- Once booked - hire a local surf guide to explore the offline breaks, hire a surf photographer, surf instructor, etc.
We are just getting started and initially focused on supply in Mexico (where we have been living for the last 2+ years) and some secondary Central American countries!
If you have any thoughts or feedback I'd love to hear it! π
