Can you talk more about whats under the hood here? Are you leveraging any AI etc or simply API data scrape, then dooing some magic then off to twilio etc?
@floozyspeak Hey Dan, thanks for the comment. I can't go into too much detail but there is No AI at the moment, we may add this in down the line(probably will). We do a lot of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) on data that we stream in realtime. Then have a bunch of algorithms that do specific jobs, check for specific spikes ect. There is a lot more going on in the backend to deal with the data flow as we are not just looking at wallstreetbets but also its related subreddits, also bot detection is built into it as well witch ads complexity to it.
As you pointed out we do use Twilio as well but nothing crazy going on there. Have a system in place to handle distributing texts.
Short answer I guess is that we have No AI and are simply scraping it and then running some processes over it to find insights.
Apologies that this is quite vague but I don't want to be publicly going into the inner workings of it.
👋 Hey guys, we are building a fun little service called Wallstreettexts. WST sends regular text alerts on buy, sell and hold positions based on analysis of millions of posts within r/wallstreetbets.
The idea came about from us getting some FOMO after missing out on the recent goings on within the sub. We then tried to build something that would make it easier for newbies like us to be alerted to the various movements within r/wallstreetbets before the horse has bolted.
This has been a fun project and we are adding new text types every week as well as doing deeper analysis of stocks. 🎉
@dr_dani Thank you for the comment! I mean, currently we don't have any plans to move it to email as well although we are not against the idea. If there is value in that for people then we could look at doing that as well :)
