If you, like me, are concerned about your online privacy and looking for better ways to protect your data - Wallabag is your go to Pocket alternative! Pros: - Powerful web app - Available on iOS and Android - Offers e-reader export - Import from Pocket - Tons of features - Host it yourself guides - If you are not interested in hosting it yourself, the developers are offering to do that for you for a small fee Cons: - There are no reading recommendations - The initial setup process is a bit longer than I expected, BUT well documented

@stanislav_dim looks great and the self hosting feature looks like a big benefit, I wonder how many privacy problems pocket has though, I mean it's from Mozilla whose mission is to make the internet saver, right? Would love to hear your findings!

@pregenun You are right - Mozilla has bought Pocket couple of years ago. What bothers me is that their main product is open source. Mozilla Foundation supports open source projects through their MOSS awards program, yet Pocket is still not open source...

It literally changed my life! I use it for more than a year now and I capture everything I read with it. It is now a central place for anything I read instead of storing articles in bookmarks, text files, different apps, browser tabs... Searching old articles is more and more useful as I have a bigger database now. I never forget an important article I wanted to read because I just submit from mobile and read it later.

I’m going to use for a week and see if it can really replace Pocket for me. On first sight - it looks it could!
