Hey Product Hunt! We're excited to launch Voiceroom, a service designed to make virtual interactions more realistic. As students, we've spent hours on Zoom and Google Hangouts where only one person can speak at a time. We miss the real-life environment of open collaboration – and the ability to launch into a side conversation with the person next to you. To solve that problem, we built Voiceroom. With Voiceroom, multiple simultaneous conversations can happen in one room, and you'll be able to hear both the immediate conversation around you as well as other conversations in the background. It's like a real room. If you're presenting, you can screen share and broadcast your voice so that the whole room can hear you. Voiceroom currently supports all major browsers (Chrome, Safari, and Firefox) and rooms up to 15 people. We're working hard on bringing support to mobile – as well as expanding the number of participants in each room. We're continuously improving the experience, and would love to hear your feedback! I'm seeing so many spacial voice chat apps lately. My only concern with them is that it requires the user to look at their screen, dramatically decreasing how often the tool might be used (while commuting, working out, doing the dishes, etc.). Of course if it's a workplace focused tool, that may not matter.

@rrhoover Totally agree! I personally hate staring at my screen for so many hours a day for both work and social purposes (something that comes with the remote college-student life) - that’s partly why we went with a voice-first approach instead of full-on video, so even if you’re connected and in the room you don’t have to be actively paying attention. There’s also the added component of the fact that it’s often hard not to be distracted watching yourself when your video’s turned on - which is also quite energy draining. We’re currently exploring what it would take to add native mobile support that’ll allow you to join on the go - hopefully we’ll have that soon!
