Review Vivaldi?

Vivaldi is praised for its high level of customization, privacy features, and versatility. Users appreciate its flexibility, with features like workspaces, gesture control, and custom web panels enhancing productivity. Many have switched from other browsers, citing Vivaldi's speed and user-centric design. However, some users note occasional performance issues and challenges with synchronization. Despite these minor drawbacks, Vivaldi is favored for its innovative approach and commitment to user feedback, making it a strong choice for those seeking a personalized browsing experience.

Hi Product Hunt! Vlad from Vivaldi here. 👋 Today we're launching the biggest update in Vivaldi's history. We've completely redesigned the browser and added Dashboard - a command center that brings your entire digital life into one place. What's new in Vivaldi 7: • Fresh UI with floating tabs and a cleaner look • Dashboard: Customize your start page with mail, calendar, tasks, feeds, and any website widgets • Real-time sync across devices • Improved Feed Reader with folder organization Why this matters: While other browsers serve the masses, Vivaldi is the only web browser powerful enough to match you. With all the features and tools you need built-in and unmatched levels of customization. From the new design to the Dashboard widget. And unlike Big Tech browsers, we respect your privacy. I'll be here all day to answer your questions. Try it out and us know what you think! 😍

What made me leave Vivaldi a few years ago, was that it was slow and one couldn't customize the size of vertical tabs. Has any work been done on performance and true customizability of vertical tabs? Happy to give Vivaldi another shot. 😃

@michacassola Hey Micha! 👋 Sorry to hear that you encountered issues in the past. We push updates to our browser every week, so many things have happened since the last time you tried it. And of course, vertical tabs are customizable. Would love for you to give it another shot, and let us know how you feel about it.

@uladzislau_rasliak Will do that later today and give it a good try. Also: Is there a better way to reach you for feedback than a forum? I really dislike forums for that as people will come in and tell you that you don't need the feature your asking for or that your bug is intended...

@uladzislau_rasliak I was happy for a second there, but it turns out you still cannot change the tab height of tabs in vertical mode. Also being able to change the distance between them and the height would be nice. And compact display mode only does so much and interface zoom is not the right tool for that either. I wished you could see my Firefox with Sidebery and some CSS added to it.

Huge congrats to the Vivaldi team on the sleek new 7.0 launch! Loving the minimalist vibes with the floating tabs and fresh icons. Dashboard sounds like a productivity powerhouse - can you tell me, are there plans to integrate third-party services (e.g. Google Calendar, Outlook Mail) into the Dashboard, or is it primarily for Vivaldi's native apps for now?

Actually I'd like to review browser more than calendar, because calendar is more simple by design, but the browser is more important for me as Internet user. I have used both Vivaldi and Opera. My experience with both has been positive. I like how much personalization you can do with the two browsers. It is a little more difficult to find settings in Vivaldi than Opera, but once you find them its not that much more difficult to change. I would say that after using both browsers for a while I prefer Opera.

I searched for a long time until I found an almost perfect browser. It's more of an operating system in a browser. I recommend!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! This browser can be whatever you want it to be. Yes, it's so customizable that you can make it anything you want! It's private, doesn't track you and it blocks ads! The company is run by amazing employees and they really do listen to users requests!
