Fantasy football meets startup investing. β Collect & trade NFT-backed limited-edition fantasy equity of the startups you believe in, compete in tournaments and get real returns on your investments. π
Hi Product Hunt, π
Jacob from Visionrare here. Until very recently, I was a Venture Capitalist π° and today I'm proud to present to you Visionrare, the NFT-fuelled fantasy startup investing game.
π Today we are launching out beta access, where we present our primary market place with YC W18-S20 companies.
β° For the first 48 hours the marketplace will be open to everyone who is interested.
π There will be 5 shares for sale per company at fixed prices, sold off on a first come, first serve basis.
π Buying at least one VisionShare makes you a beta user which means that youβll have continued access to the platform until wider public launch.
π After the initial 48 hours the beta will close and will only be available through referral and invite.
We'd love for you to become a Visionrary and have your feedback!

@adrienduchateau Thank you!
Great question.
So NFTs stand for 'Non fungible tokens', basically a way to track ownership of unique things on the internet. Other than 'fungible tokens' like cryptocurrencies, each NFT token is unique and cannot be replaced by another token.
On Visionrare, each startup has a limited set of VisionShares, e.g. fantasy shares. Each VisionShare is an NFT token on the blockchain. We use it for two things:
1) Keep track of who owns which VisionShare. This allows for true ownership. You'll be able to trade them on our platform, or use any external platform like OpenSea. It's a bit like collecting Panani cards of football players, but then for startups on the internet.
2) (Coming soon) Create a way to provably limit the supply of VisionShares. Because NFTs are 'smart contracts' on the blockchain, they can enforce certain guarantees. E.g. limit the supply by guaranteeing that 'Each company only has 100 VisionShares per funding round'.
This creates the following dynamic in our game:
1) Players buy VisionShares of the startups they believe in. Startups that do well will get more interest, so the price of their VisionShare increases.
2) Players can decide to either hold on to their VisionShares to participate in the game, or trade them on the secondary market with other players.
3) Every month, we'll look at how well each startup on our platform has performed in the real world, based on metrics like e.g. proxy valuation. The best portfolios will be rewarded with a prize. Prize money comes from the sales of the initial VisionShares.
Hope this helps! Let us know if you have other questions.
