This kids app helps kids feel like they are real YouTubers. The app has an animated video intro based on their "channel name" and allows them to add all the bells & whistles their favorite video creators have.
Hi Hunters! I'm Chrystal, a mother and co-founder of VidKids. Our team (which includes three kid entrepreneurs) is so excited to finally show you our product today!
The idea started when I kept seeing my kids make YouTube-like videos at home. They would also ask me if they could start their own YouTube channel (sorry, no). I realized I could take their love for YouTube and use it as motivation for creating something of their own, safely.
Our features include:
-Multiple "channels" on one device.
-Animated, personalized Intro/Outro.
-License-free background music.
-Advanced Features: Thumbnail Image, Stickers, Subscribe Button
-Video player with growing video view counts. Fun!
-Video download option for our real YouTube creators.
VidKids can be used for fun but also has applications in education. I love to assign video presentations about what they learned in class.
It is our plan to introduce licensed packs (specialty songs, video frames, etc) for in-app purchase.
It would mean a lot to us if you (or your little hunters at home) could help us with your ideas and feedback. Since the idea was born, my kids have been involved in its creation every step of the way and I will be sure to share your feedback with them.
Thank you so much for your support! Special thanks to @chrismessina for hunting us! And to @husseinyahfoufi for being the best developer out there.
With little kids in my home, I hear the words “don’t forget to hit like and subscribe” often. This is what the kids hear and when they play pretend they often repeat it.
We are not comfortable with letting our little kids upload to YouTube and probably never will be. VidKids solves this problem by letting them experience shooting, editing and “uploading” a video without any of the safety concerns.
