It happens too often that we end up trying a few fonts before starting with a new project. To help designers and developers, I created a tool called "useFonts". If you are a frontend developer or a designer, you should probably check it out.
This deserves more upvotes!
I have a few questions:
* Are you planning to add auto search by font-name?
* Most integrations will probably use custom CSS
* How do you load font previews? (Is it efficient?)
* Is this a hardcoded list of fonts / or do you dynamically query it via the Google Fonts API?
* Are you planning to integrate with Adobe fonts, WebFont library etc.?
(I haven't checked the code & also not a JS developer, but a react package would be awesome to share around).
Hey @george_rybi
Thanks for considering it for upvote. Now, here are the answers to your questions.
* Yes, i'm planning to add auto search by the font-name.
* Regarding the CSS part, i'm using a decent utility-based CSS framework called Tailwind, that helps to to just change the configuration, and by that i don't have to write any line of CSS by myself. But, to be honest! I love to write CSS. So, if upcoming versions demands me to write custom CSS, then i will. Even, i can think to provide "COPY THE CSS" feature for the users.
* It am using the google fonts API and that too comes with a Web font loader, that enables me to load the font inside the preview.
* No, it's not hardcoded, instead i'm using Google Fonts API.
* That is something, i haven't thought of. But doing the same will enable the users to preview inside figma, adobe xd, etc. But, man this will amazing. Thanks for highlighting this point.
Yeah, once this tool is mature enough, creating a NPM package would be great.
