Hi Product Hunt! 👋
TurboAnimator was born out of my own frustration -- it took ages to add basic animations to my Google Slides presentations for both teaching and research. I spent almost an hour a week (yes, really!) clicking on each element, clicking the "Add Animation" button, changing the animation type. dragging animation speed sliders...
I built TurboAnimator to simplify this workflow. Now with simple shortcuts (e.g., Alt-A), TurboAnimator adds your preset animation to the slide element(s) that you chose. You can also:
- Apply the animation onto all the elements that you selected at the same time
- Define and use up to 5 more custom animation combinations besides the default (via e.g., Alt+Shift+1 to 5)
- Choose which animation start condition should be applied (on-click, with previous, after previous, etc)
- Animate by-paragraph if necessary
- Delete the last animation in the list (Alt+Shift+D by default)
- Delete the last animation for the selected element (Alt+Shift+R by default)
- And all these shortcuts can be changed!
I hope that you can try this out and let me know what you think! To try a guided walkthrough and make testing easier, please feel free to clone this deck: https://bit.ly/turboanimator-tes....
@sriram_sami hey good stuff mate, I see you’ve already posted in the browser extension devs discord (discord.gg/Jhr9CDXU for anyone interested) so awesome to see you representing the extension community !
Good luck with the launch 🚀
As someone who's spent countless hours adjusting slide animations, I can relate to this a lot. The ability to define custom animation combos is 🔥. Unfortunately, I am stuck with PowerPoint, but maybe that would be a cool addition in the future (e.g. as a plugin)?
@wintoniak Good to know that this is a legitimate issue - and sorry that we don't have something for PowerPoint yet :)
I can recommend an OSS project for PowerPoint however: https://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~ppt.... Maybe you'll find this useful!
