We help project managers and UX designers to create well-defined tasks, easily organize them and track their completion. Treenga promotes working on a single task at a time and allows you to share detailed information with your teams.
Hi PH community!
I wrote thousands of tasks over the years, and all of them were written for remote team members. And for most of them I needed a big canvas to explain everything, utilizing a combination of written paragraphs and images to make my vision clear. I don’t like to have to attach my images at the end of a document, but rather to integrate them in order to better explain the text. Some other popular project management tools didn't satisfy me because the text field is small and images attached at the end and not within a description.
I want my images to be placed right after the text they relate to, because I want my readers to be able to review all visuals before moving on to the next paragraph. This is why I favor text representation such as Medium, where images are first-class citizens used to enhance descriptions, and are not treated like an afterthought or text appendix.
Eventually, I realised that what I wanted was to use a mix of Paper and Github, so a “single task at a time” interface with rich task descriptions, along with category/people assignment features. So we created Treenga. Tasks are grouped by categories (tags), which can be hierarchical and represent your project structure, or be designed around task attributes such as milestones or urgency.
Main features:
- team-based
- hierarchical tags (categories)
- simple and fast interface
- WYSIWYG-editor for task description
- drafts, so you never lose your work
- task history, so you aware who changed what
- private tasks
- hierarchical comments like on PH; it's clear who answered whom
- realtime notifications
- category descriptions
- account sharing for easy freelancing, combine multiple accounts in a single interface
- @user mentions
- instant filter which applies in realtime
- a constant user state wherever we can; collapsed comment stays collapsed
Try it, we create a sample team upon registration, so you can easily understand how it behaves. Your feedback is welcome!
Limited time offer for PH community: $200 startup credit, which is about a year of free usage for a team of 10 people.
@artem_syzonenko Hi Artem. Congratulations on the product launch. I am creating a resource material for founders & entrepreneurs where I am interviewing different entrepreneurs and makers on their product launches. This will be read by upcoming founders who are planning to launch their product and this also will add an additional stream of awareness for your product as well. I was wondering if you would like to share your experience as well. Here is the link https://forms.gle/srwVDhwGHT7YcG5N8
Like 2 side tree mode. the hierarchical filter can't edit ? many the same words as categories. The hierarchical tag like evernote tag and similar layout. Actually it's the filter concept. but the different is Treenga is a task managenmet , but aslo use for simple note, evernote is a note, also use for simple task.
Yes, right panel has the same categories. The idea here is that you can start from any criteria you currently want and then narrow down. For example, you think about milestone, so you select "Milestone A" and see amount of task on every person, so you can easily filter required one.
Similarly, if you think about some person, you select, say, "Assignee A" in left tree and see, what milestones and features are assigned to this person, so you can narrow down to just, say, "Milestone A" and see only required tasks. So you can slice and dice all tasks whatever you want.
Artem, as a tester of literally hundreds of PMS, I can say with certainty that there is no other out there that allows one to place supporting images alongside text in this way. I can envision many use cases for this functionality. That said, your UX is unlike anything conventional and that will pose a barrier to PMs who are looking for Kanban and Scrumability. I have not actually tried your system out to confirm my initial opinion, but at first glance it looks like a proof of concept version of something promising. If I may, I would like to suggest that you remove your pricing structure, mention prominently that you are in beta, and ask for feedback from testers. I think you are still a sprint or two away from primetime. I hope this is constructive, it is meant to be :)
@gregw Greg, thank you for constructive feedback! I was impressed as well when I couldn't find a service where I just can type text, add images, type more etc. But I clearly understand why it is so. In most cases you just verbally discuss task with initiator and do it, so you don't need a big written explanation for it. But for me personally it was always much easier to write a thorough task explanation first, in many cases I even found a better way to solve the problem while describing it. Maybe because I always work for remote developers/managers.
Thank you for pricing recommendation, will think about it.
