Hi folks, I'm Will, co-founder of Tred. I started Tred with my friend & co-founder Pete because we saw that a lot of people wanted to have their money do good for the planet, but there weren't any options out there with the same easy-to-use feel that consumers have come to expect from their banking apps. We set out to make making the right choice easier, and that's what Tred has been built to do. Tred users help fund tree planting every time they use their Tred cards (which are made from recycled plastic), at no cost to them. In their Tred app they can see their carbon footprint, broken down by category to understand it better, and see a drill down on the exact emissions of an individual transaction. Our reduce section makes shrinking their footprint more rewarding, with discounts on top eco-brands. Users can also opt to offset the rest of their footprint dynamically using their choice of verified offset plan, so they can go totally carbon neutral. With Tred, your money never funds fossil fuels. Unlike the big banks, who fund oil and gas projects to the tune of hundreds of billions each year. We’re a B Corp and members of 1% For The Planet, so you know with Tred you’re having a positive impact. We’ve built our own world-leading carbon tracking tech to enable accurate carbon tracking, and we’re currently rolling out our latest feature ‘Tred Connect’. This allows you to connect your other bank accounts to Tred, letting you see your total carbon footprint. Tred is in beta right now. If you’re based in the UK you can try it for free. I have been using my Tred card for months now and think it is brilliant. My aim is to use it for all my day to day spending and move away from Monzo. Will and Pete have built a fantastic company that allows everyone to do good for the planet. What is not to like!! Well done Team Tred.
