TouchCast is a TV studio in an iPad that lets you put the web into your video. Now, we just updated TouchCast with some serious video-editing features. So you can trim clips, add clips and other media, add interactive vApps mid-stream, and there's even an "undo" button! Now you can shoot videos, edit, and add interactivity all on your iPad.
Congrats on the launch, @erickschonfeld. At first glance, it looks like a power user product. Is this built more for the YouTube indie editors or casual videographers like my mom?
@rrhoover TouchCast is a powerful video tool that is being used by the BBC, WSJ, and other large organizations. (See the WSJ: http://www.wsj.com/video/what-yo..., BBC http://www.bbc.com/news/health-2..., or this article on the WSJ's launch http://digiday.com/publishers/wa...).
But it is designed to be so simple that an 8-year old can learn to use it. And in fact, students and teachers are the biggest users of our free consumer product. So, yes, indie YouTube creators or your Mom can use it (and you can even upload to YouTube directly from TouchCast)!
One question we get a lot if "where can a TouchCast play?" and the short answer is nearly anywhere. Our apps produce .mp4's which can play anywhere. And for interactivity, we offer an embed players for all users and HTML, Flash and iOS SDKs for 3rd party devs to integrate into video players. We also have a WordPress plug-in to publish directly to WP sites.
