If you're a freelancer consider this... Your time is literally money. So if you could make more of it, wouldn’t that mean more money? Let’s do some math. Say you charge $50/hour for your services. Because you started time blocking, you’re now able now to finish work ~10% faster. Work that would’ve taken 40 hours, now takes 36 hours. ~10% more time over the span of a year gives you ~174 additional hours! Say you put those additional ~174 hours towards new projects. You could reasonably expect an additional $8,700 in revenue per year. - Before: 2080 x $50/hour = $104,000 - After: 2254 x $50/hour= $112,700 Now let's consider a quote from Cal Newport (Author of Deep Work)... “A 40-hour time-blocked work week, I estimate, produces the same amount of output as a 60+ hour work week pursued without structure.” With that said, a less humble projection is more like 4-5x an additional $8,700/year (~$43,500 from time-blocking)!
