What do you think? …

Greg Gilbert
Hello friends! Today I'm sharing with you what I called a "prayer engine." I built it over a weekend, mostly to learn some SSE within HTMX. I shared it with a couple of friends and people started using it! Now, I have grouped the three prayers under a single brand: The Prayer Page. Super easy to remember and to use. I might add more prayers if some get enough requests! Prayer.page is a PWA (Progressive Web App) so you can easily install it on your phone by bookmarking the page to the home. Ask Me Anything about building (and shipping) products!

@gregoiregilbert Congratulations on the launch! 🚀🙏
Greg Gilbert
@meryem_ghazi thank you! Did you give it a try already? :)
Greg Gilbert
@louisa_gendelle thank you. Did you try it yet?

I do love me some HTMX! I think this is so fascinating and powerful. I love calm tech that is a tool that truly helps the person using it
Greg Gilbert
@campak thanks, Cam! Have you tried to play with SSE + htmx?
Cam Pak
@gregoiregilbert What is SSE?haha
Greg Gilbert
@campak ah! sorry. Server Sent Event. A way to push information (one way) from the server to the browser. That's what I use to display the lines of prayer. Do you use websockets? or just hx-get?
Cam Pak
@gregoiregilbert Nice. I just use hx-get :)
Greg Gilbert
@campak cool :) I built the first prototype with it. And of course I often use hx-get for other things!

Amazing to see this! Coincidentally, I also just launched a faith-based app called Aalim.chat today. I love seeing folks creating useful tools for their communities.
Greg Gilbert
@dudeincode hey Farid! Thanks for the kind words. Wanted to check your app but it's 500 at the moment? Will check again later :)
Greg Gilbert
@dudeincode ah! I think it's because I visited the root (no www). The redirect didn't work if you don't go to the www first
Farid Sultani
@gregoiregilbert Brother, I'm not going to lie: you gave me a heart attack for about 5 seconds. :) Glad to know the server isn't down! I tried root and www just now, and it was working fine for me. If it happens again for you, please let me know (if you don't mind).
Greg Gilbert
@dudeincode haha, so sorry. Not exactly sure what happened. Since it was 500, it was probably not a redirect issue. It's working fine now! Congrats on the launch :)
Farid Sultani
@gregoiregilbert I just saw it now. You were right: 500, and it was loading with www. It worked fine after a reload, but definitely something I need to look into. I appreciate you letting me know about this! Lord knows how many others might have experienced it.
