I wanted to share the story with you of how Tennis Scorecard went from an idea on the court to my first app on the App Store.
A few months ago, I started playing tennis regularly after not playing for several years. My friends and I found that we would frequently lose track of the score and also had to keep looking up the rules. I would also overhear players on the other courts losing track of their score.
This coincided with me taking an online course to become an iOS developer. I needed a project for my portfolio and for practicing my coding skills. I started development on Tennis Scorecard to solve both of these problems.
After hundreds of hours of writing code, researching APIs, researching tennis rules, watching tutorials, dozens of sets played, 2 pairs of tennis shoes, and 1 tennis shoulder injury later... Tennis Scorecard has launched!
The app is designed for casual tennis players who want a simple and straightforward way to keep track of the score, current server, and side changes. All data is saved/synced with iCloud so there is no onboarding or account creation - you can jump right in and start using the app.

@sentry_co Thank you André! I've been brainstorming ways to incorporate AI into a future update. My initial thought was an AI chat bot where you can ask questions about the rules. I like where your head is at.
@sentry_co I wouldn’t be surprised if video is around the corner. When I was researching tennis rules I was asking ChatGPT questions and the coolest part that made it way better than googling was being able to ask it follow up questions to clarify certain rules
