Awesome work @martiros_aghajanyan! I built a similar product last year (idea of a calendar) but didn't go down to city level. Curious on how this is curated? Do you do this by hand?
Thank you for great feedback @gadgick!
It is 100% automatic. System imports tech events from different sources like Meetup.com, Eventbrite.com, Facebook and Lanyrd.com and gives some popularity to events based on various metrics.
For example, the event which has been actively shared in Linkedin will have higher popularity in the website. All that for showing relevant results first.
š By the time I will be adding more metrics, like checking if an event has been sent in popular newsletters, etc ...
beside that it gives you right information you need, it also works super smooth and fast looks like the author of website knows how to get things done on technical side
Pros:
Simple and awesome tool that let's you find, sort, filter tech events
Cons:
As for now I simply cannot find anything I would change in this tool
Hi PH!
I created TechEvents.co to solve my own problem. There are a lot of event websites that already exist, such as Meetup.com, Eventbrite.com and Facebook, but the problem I had is that it took a lot of time searching through these sites individually to find interesting events.
So I built TechEvents.co, which is an aggregator that collects tech events from Meetup.com, Eventbrite.com, Facebook and Lanyrd.com into a single source which can be filtered and ordered by popularity. š Right now there are over 35,000 active events and 260,000 attendees.
I will be adding more sources in the future.
This is saving a lot of time for me. Hopefully, it will be useful for others too! š
Would love to get some feedback and Iām happy to answer any questions you may have!
