Excited to be on Product Hunt and share a bit more about Tawkify, which we initially created to help me find a girlfriend!
Co-founded by esteemed Elle advice columnist E. Jean Carroll (Saturday Night Live Writer and Today Show Correspondent), Tawkify wants to bring the personalization of human matchmaking to everyday people and become the lifestyle for people committed to finding and maintaining happiness.
Get started by signing up and answering some simple questions online. Then, expect a call from one of Tawkify’s hip, young matchmakers. You’ll chat about your interests, passions, and what you’re looking for—from there, relax and let them pair you up with someone special, design and schedule your date, and follow up with brutally honest feedback. If you haven't tried it yet, it’s definitely worth a try.
As Gizmodo writes about the Tawkify experience, “never, on any other dating site, will you ever feel more catered to.”
@kenneth_shaw Howdy, interesting product. What are your price points for the matching making service? There are other online curated matching making sites can you go into a little detail about how you're different?
Full disclosure I work for match. All opinions, of course, are my own.
@johnnyquachy - great question! And yes, even people from Match could use a matchmaker ;)
We believe there is a huge gap between the free online dating sites and the traditional matchmaking firms that charge on average $10k per user. We're offering a premium product that delivers a full concierge service at an accessible price by leveraging technology and operations.
In NYC, SF & Bay Area, and DC, it's $599/month, where we pair you with your personal matchmaker to go out and find you two matches. Your dates will be designed and scheduled around you and you'll get no BS honest feedback. Your matchmaker will work with you on next steps, whether it's a second date or a new match.
If you're in SF, Johnny, shoot me an email at kenneth at tawkify dot com and we can grab coffee to chat more.
Time for the realist to chime in.
So I tried the old Tawkify a few years ago. Why? Because I got 8 free dates with my Klout Score (hey, free dates -- why not?). Nothing came out of it. I got one date from Tawkify that just didn't match the physical description I received from them. That was utterly disappointing and a major letdown.
I think matchmaking can be highly effective, but it really has to drill deep into what the person wants and is looking for. I never felt like Tawkify really did that. Part of why matchmakers are so pricy is the cost of recruitment. Tawkify is reasonably priced for what it does, but in the end it's about results.
Then again, I've never been a paying customer and probably never will pay for matchmaking, so maybe I'm not the target customer.
@benparr Ben, you handsome devil! Yes! Yes!----I remember the eggzactly the lovely kind of young lady you wished to meet. And we missed by a mile. Want to try again?
@benparr - We love realists. Incorporating feedback from our users has made Tawkify what it is today. We've definitely iterated on the product a ton since the days we provided free dates with Klout Scores. Thank you for being one of our early adopters back then.
We're data driven and optimize for successful results, meaning both parties go on at least second dates.
Good point about the traditional high-ticket price due to recruitment. With our growing team of dynamic and passionate matchmakers, we are using technology and operations to augment the results of recruitment and leverage it to bring a price point that's accessible to every day people.

@ejeancarroll@kenneth_shaw - neat! a few q's
1) what's your philosophy of match-making? just met a friend from the Dating Ring - wonder how you guys compare.
2) seems there's an inherent conflict of interest in that you want people to find relationships but if they find relationships they no longer use your service - how do you respond to this?
3) who demographically is using the product right now and how are you acquiring more usrs?
Hail, Erik! @eriktorenberg
Delighted to answer your questions:
1. My philosophy of matchmaking: Keep it primitive. Never forget
we are primates----animals. If two people LIKE one another, they will FIND things they have in common.
2. Tawkify is not just a matchmaking company. We are a lifestyle company. We will continue to create romance and adventure in our client's lives----------------perhaps 20 years from now arranging their second honeymoons.
3. We attract highly-accomplished, overly-scheduled, busy, intelligent, attractive people who have marvelous careers, fantastic friends, and just haven't found some one delectable to date.
@ejeancarroll@eriktorenberg - Great questions, Erik!
1) Looks like E. Jean already answered this. She's been providing dating and relationship advice for over 30 years and has recruited and on-boarded our amazing group of diverse and passionate matchmakers. You can find their bios here: http://www.tawkify.com/footer/ab...
2) We do get asked this a lot, Erik. We've aligned the success of relationships with the incentives for our matchmakers, where success is measured in terms of at least second dates (for now). Our tech team and our matchmakers work closely together on processes and metrics to ensure we're consistently improving if not finding your perfect match right off the bat. Furthermore, we believe when you've met the one, you'll rave about your amazing experience on Tawkify with your friends and help us grow as a company and match more people!
Our mission also includes maintaining happiness in personal relationships, so eventually finding relationships does not mean dropping off of Tawkify - we have several customers who still get date suggestions from their matchmakers.
3) Right now, 75% of our customers are between the ages of 25 and 40. But we've seen the whole range from 18 to 80. We've been prioritizing customer acquisition on word of mouth, SEM, press and occasional Gilt City offers.
