Customer service with Tablo is essentially non-existent. They have severe faults in their payout system and do not respond to email or site-based inquiries. Online they have a set payment schedule for royalties. I did not receive any payments at any of the scheduled intervals for my royalties. I had to email and send messages to their help centre. It took weeks to get a response and when I did get a response they sent me an e-transfer for half the royalties they owed me with no description of what the payment was for (inclusive dates). They did not explain why they only issued payment for half the royalties owing. I then followed up months ago asking where the remainder of my royalties were and when they would pay them and I have not received a response yet. They are purposefully ignoring my inquiries which is wholly unprofessional and I would never recommend their services to anyone. Don't bother it's a huge headache.
I've had an awful experience using Tablo. The one good thing is their website is nice and user-friendly. However, there are huge gaps in the process that are not covered, and the communication is terrible. If you ask for support, days, even weeks go by without an answer. Tablo made mistakes on my pre-printed copy. when I asked for support, Damien brushed me off. I was told Ash, the CEO would be in touch, he never contacted me. I missed my launch date by, still counting - 7 days. I would NEVER recommend this company and if I could only get a manager on the phone i'd demand a full refund, sadly, that's not possible. You've been warned.
Tablo is an online publishing platform where you can write, connect with readers, and self-publish in eBook & paperback to nearly every online & physical bookshop in the world.
Creating and publishing a real book with Tablo is as easy as publishing a blog. You can write or upload a document, pick a theme and, with the click of a publish button, your book will be available on Amazon, the iBooks Store, Booktopia, and nearly 40,000 physical bookshops like Barnes & Noble and Readings. It's the largest distribution network available to independent authors, and the simplest way to publish.
Paperback is enabled by a global print-on-demand network that will list your book as in-stock with every retailer, then print and dispatch each copy the moment it's purchased from the closest location to the customer within a few days (there are over 20 printers spread around the world). This means the book you've created online will be available in paperback almost everywhere, with no overheads and no inventory. You'll even ship with Amazon Prime.
Writing and sharing on Tablo is free, with distribution starting at $99/year.
Elon’s Musk
I've been a fan of Ash for quite some time, having been an avid follower of his PhotoGuides.net series and then tracking his transition into Tablo.
Tablo is without a doubt one of the main disruptive forces in the literary world, something we haven't seen since the advent of Amazon in its early days.
This next big step will no doubt solidify Tablo, Ash and his team as one of the most exciting and 'must watch' startups of 2018.
Pros:Incredible reach, simple process, reasonable price for small and big authors alike
Cons:None
