Hi Product Hunt! πŸ‘‹ 🚧 I'm Dilan. I was once an international student at MIT. I was struggling with deep depression and intense loneliness, was out of shape, and barely spoke English. Then, a fortunate relationship with a supportive guide spurred me to transform my physical fitness. That changed the trajectory of my life. Giving me the confidence to start my first company (which Google later acquired). Unfortunately, for far too many fitness is still a lonely struggle. We've set out to end that. I built System2 to bring support & guidance for fitness from elite coaches to everyone. We use motion-analysis tech to bring access to top-tier coaches at 1/10th the cost. πŸŽ₯ We are the first and only async training product to incorporate video, so that your coach can *see* what you do and give you precise feedback every time. This means along with a custom workout plan for the week and regular conversations with your trainer encouraging you along the way, you also receive precise, "down-to-the-angles-of-your-joints" feedback on your form, speed, and power. With these precise insights into how your body performsβ€”you'll know exactly where you're making progress in your strength, agility, and speed (and where you may be risking injury) well before it becomes visibly obvious. β€’β€’ Focused on the trainer/trainee relationship : Connect 1:1 with a human coach. β€’β€’ Every workout on video : Like a video journal of your physical transformation. β€’β€’ Precision feedback : On your exercise form within 24 hours. β€’β€’ Free movement mechanics screening : $100 at a fancy gym. $0. with System2. β€’β€’ Personalized plans : Customized to meet your needs & life-conditions. β€’β€’ At home & on the go : Coach designs workouts for your body & your needs. β€’β€’ Unlimited-access : Daily video + audio + text & bi-weekly zoom calls. 2-Months FREE PH launch offer (first 100 signups) πŸ™€ To our fellow builders - normally $99/month, includes free movement mechanics screening on first consultation. β€” Dilan & the System2 team ps: We named the company System2 because we want to support people in taking deliberate action to make their lives better, for all you Kahneman fans :)

I love this application of computer vision β€” augmenting a coach's ability to remotely evaluate the performance of folks working out at home while providing a fast feedback mechanism via app for those who can't get to the gym (like me, thanks to the shutdown rules! Congrats on the launch @dilan!

@chrismessina Thank you, Chris! With our early users, we found out that video feedback mechanism supports their fitness journey in 4 big ways: 1. When your trainer can see what you do when you workout, it eliminates one of the biggest gaps between 1:1 remote coaching and live in-person coaching. With video, the trainer gets a much clearer picture of how the workout went and can now give you precise feedback on your form, speed, power, etc, and help you prevent injuries. 2. Video allows us to apply computer vision tech to help trainers discover subtleties in your movement that'll soon be at a level of precision that may be deeper and more complete than they could get in person. 3. Video motivates you! Our early customers consistently report that they feel more accountable and motivated when they know that their coach is going to review their footage. 4. It deepens the client/coach relationship. There's nothing quite like the eye-to-eye presence you feel when you work out with a trainer in person, and at the moment, video is the closest you can get to that and still be free to connect with your trainer from anywhere in the world.

I’ve been researching the products and services in the β€œremote fitness” category and System2’s focus on video recording every workout for an actual human trainer to review (with the assistance of AI) really resonates. So many products in this category seem to de-emphasize (or even attempt to eliminate completely) the β€œreal connection with a human who cares” part of the personal transformation equation. Some go with the β€œfew sizes fit all” pre-recorded workouts (grouped into beginner, intermediate, and advanced) that you’re supposed to follow along with, regardless of the specific needs of your current body or the mental challenges and painful beliefs that might be getting in the way). I think of these like gym memberships that people sign up for after New year’s, when the motivation is high, and then a large percentage keep paying for even though they’ve stopped going β€œjust in case.” Then there are full-on β€œreplace the trainer” products that use AI and/or sensors in the hardware that offer to customize your workouts, give you basic feedback on your form β€œkeep back straight!” count your reps, and send you automated push notifications to nudge you... And in between those are a tiny handful of 1-1 personal training apps that do involve real human trainers but their main role is making a weekly workout plan and sending you text messages to provide accountability. System2 seems to be focusing much more on making the remote training experience as close to the in-person experience as current technology allows...treating trainers not merely as rep counters and accountability β€œnudgers”, but guides along one’s path to physical transformation. The company’s hypothesis seems to be that using tech to facilitate the relationship between trainer and trainee and expand a single trainer’s capacity to serve a larger number of clients without compromising on quality will deliver more consistent transformation than trying to supplant expert trainers and cut them out of the story (and off the balance sheet). This seems like the rare approach in tech right now, but I’d guess that it’s the one that will prove to actually work for the most people over time. Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.

@dankaplan Great comment - and very much agree. We have the same mission/thesis and strongly believe AI will drastically enhance the relationship between pro and athlete/fitness consumer, not replace it. And it'll enable the fitness creative to scale their reach in ways that don't undermine the quality of "care" or instruction.
