SwagExchange is on a mission to celebrate the love people and companies have for swag and our planet. Exchange your swag, showcase your swag, level up, and more!
@britt_joiner Love it! Welcome to the exchange! Feel free to submit what you have, and I'll work to get it loaded in the next 24 hours or so! Also, check out the roadmap to see what's coming... I think you'll really like the "collection" aspect!
We, as an industry and society, love swag! It performs well! 85% of worldwide consumers remember the advertiser that gave them branded swag! No wonder companies have loads of it sitting around, and no wonder we love collecting it.
I also believe that swag tells a story and can mark a moment in time for a company. We all have a few pieces that perhaps mark a crucial milestone in our career, a memorable time at a company, etc. Those are the items we'll keep. When we look at them and hold them, it immediately takes us back to that moment.
With in-person conferences picking back up and many individuals moving around within the tech industry, I figured now would be the time to launch an idea I've been sitting on for five years. However, before I share more on that, here are some stats that you may find interesting...
Did you know that companies spend $185K a year on swag? Over 51% of this spend is on conferences, and 77% of companies manage it in the office. And guess what? Conferences are the number one use for swag. Moreover, 23% of swag at events and conferences eventually reaches landfills and oceans. Keep that in mind when you're conferencing or attending events. Don't toss the items you don't want. SwagExchange can help.
I built SwagExchange to be the best place to celebrate startup swag on the web, all while helping reduce the impact our industry has on our planet.
How does SwagExchange do this?
- By facilitating the exchange, sale, or acquisition of existing swag with other swag-loving fans who may have worked at companies or been giving swag at conferences they no longer want or need.
- If you have swag that you don't want to part with? Your swag collection on SwagExchange is a great way to show it off and inspire other companies to make the best swag they can. The best swag never hits a landfill.
- SwagExchange brings together a community to educate, learn, and share resources on all things swag! Get introduced to the latest and hottest suppliers and ideas, meet the designers behind the swag you love and more.
Many businesses have swag sitting around, taking up valuable space. Maybe you recently went to a conference or hosted an event and have some items left over. Perhaps you've recently rebranded. Whatever the reason, SwagExchange can help you sustainably unload this inventory. This also allows you to connect with a community of swag-loving employees working at some of the hottest startups today! If you're throwing an event, SwagExchange can help you here too! Swag is a great way to bring people together in a special and unique way!
Today it is free to use SwagExchange. Signup and start exchanging with your peers!
When I do introduce a revenue model for SwagExchange, I'd love to be able to give back a percentage of earnings to select charities, etc. I am looking currently looking for sponsors if you or anyone you know is interested.
If you have any swag from any new career changes or events you've attended, you're welcome to submit it! I'll be sure to prioritize these submissions and aim to refresh the exchange list weekly!
Although the inventory is still growing, current employees and alums from the following companies exchange their swag on SwagExchange today!
