Fascinating space. Some people think "prompt engineer" is a new type of job that will grow in prominence. I'm a little skeptical. I think it will be a thing people do but not a job on its own. Ofc I could be way off. Curious what you think, @0xpersona. :)

@rrhoover Thanks for the comment, Ryan. I actually agree with you to some extent. I think the cost of using these AI systems will come down dramatically over time. Access will become more affordable, and the systems will get better, meaning fewer attempts will be needed to create exactly what you want. Thus, it'll be less costly to create the perfect prompt. That being said, I think the level of skill in the space probably still follows a power law of sorts. The best prompt writers are *much* better than the worst, and generate things much faster than others. At least for now. Many people have told us they want those great writers to write specific prompts for them, so that's what we're testing with our next feature. Also doubling down on becoming the single place where people share all their AI art, regardless of what system it was generated on. Our users seem to really like that.

@rrhoover @0xpersona yeah with the costs, OpenAI's GPT-3 is already becoming cheaper: MODEL Davinci BEFORE $0.06 / 1k tokens ON SEPT 1 $0.02 / 1k tokens

Hey everyone! I recently got access to DALL·E 2 and thought it would be cool to have a place where you can buy and sell prompts. In the future much of our work will consist of creating and tweaking prompts for AI. Prompt engineering will be huge. Some people are already really good at it. I wanted to build a site where they can showcase their work and get paid for it. Would love to hear what you all think. I'll be at my keyboard all day ready to respond!
