Hey PH fam, Super excited to bring Studio AI to the wider tech & startup community. When I saw the WebDesignAI demo, I was blown away. I realized this is the future of design and web development. The interface was radically intuitive & simple to use, the AI is super contextual and smart, and you can generate actual sites within seconds from just designs. We’re not too far from a future where we can simply talk to WebDesignAI and get it to create web sites instantly like “Jarvis” in the Iron Man movie series. It’s wild! Huge respect for the team who’ve been iterating and improving this product over the years .. they’re all here today. Feel free to drop any comments, questions or suggestions! 🙏

@thisiskp_ I started coding websites back un 1999: realizing how far we've come is mindblowing. Haven't tested it, but I guess these technologies are going to change the whole market: template makers, template marketplaces companies, publishing platforms, design/development software, webdesign workflows, relationships between designers and "coders". I wonder how each of them will adapt to the new scenario.

@thisiskp_ @hmgauna Kelvin from STUDIO AI here! Absolutely agree, the evolution of the web has been nothing short of incredible. I genuinely believe well thought out technology has the potential to unleash (not replace) creativity for each of the parties you describe. This can play out in the sense of additional time for each to spend on ideating, with execution automated in various degrees by technology. Our CPO has more to say in his Maker comment below. Also curious to hear what KP and the others think!

Thanks @thisiskp_ for hunting us! Joe, Chief Design Officer, is here with our team in Japan. We are thrilled to share with you a web design tool for a new era of creativity on the web. 1. A revolutionarily intuitive editor This is a design editor designed by designers for designers. Packed with profound creative power, yet still feels so incredibly simple to use. Visually adjust with on-screen controls, meticulously timed to appear when you need them, right where your cursor is. Web designing has never felt so fluid. 2. WebDesignAI can understand and autocomplete WebDesignAI, your creative companion in the editor, can read your designs and begin iterating for you. “Hey, show me how it will look if we turn this into dark mode, and let’s add a subtle fade-in animation.” Just talk into the microphone, or begin typing. 3. Go beyond static designs And meanwhile, this is not just a static design. HTML, CSS and JavaScript are generated with every stroke you make. Simply hit the Publish button to launch your live website anytime. Meet web design, redesigned. Get early access: https://studio.design Go behind the scenes: https://twitter.com/StudioDesignHQ

@jack_park We're thrilled to see STUDIO AI gaining traction on Product Hunt!

@thisiskp_ @ytk141 is there supposed to be some kind of "early access" link or is this simply just going to the same placeholder page that you get taken to by default? All I'm seeing is a thing that says it opens May 1st
Anna Filou
@thisiskp_ @ytk141 what would “show me how it will look if we turn this into dark mode” do? Create a alternate version of the site to “show you what it’d look like”, allowing you to scrap changes and go back to the previous version? (Because that’s what I’d imagine!)
David J. Kim
This is crazy cool. When can I try it? The part about the AI companion combined with proper HTML/CSS/JS export is huge.
Kelvin H.
@between_team Hi David! Early Access starts May 1st! The idea at the moment is you'd be able to design on a freeform canvas, hit publish, and we ready all the code and hosting for you. Still debating about code export. Curious to hear from you, David - what's your thoughts on hosting and everything done for you vs exporting and managing yourself?
David J. Kim
@kelvinh I'd prefer to be able to export and manage it myself, because we have tools that we embed with Javascript on our page. Some of these tools (like Mixpanel) are super popular while some are just other cool startups.
Hamish MacDonald
@kelvinh @between_team Likewise, export is a make-or-break feature for me, because I already have my own web host, with PDF downloads and such on that server. Plus I don't want my site to be captive in anyone else's (potentially changing) business model. All that said, Studio AI looks like a really amazing tool, like a time-traveller's glimpse into the future of design.
Kelvin H.
@between_team I see! So the ability to embed custom JS. It's on the roadmap for next month :) Assuming embedding custom code is taken care of, would you choose to go with managed hosting, or still exporting and managing yourself? (Sorry for bombarding with questions!)
Kelvin H.
@between_team @formentera Gotcha, Jamie! Yes - that's the default option for now. So you'll just have to design, hit publish, enter your custom domain, and your designs will go live as a site :)
