StretchUp.ai is a virtual camera for Zoom and similar apps that promotes taking standing breaks and stretching. It uses computer vision to remind you to stand up, zooms-in on your face as you move, and lets you stretch in private at the click of a button.
@ju_weh Thanks for liking the app. Note that you also get "Follow Me" zoom that keeps your face front and center and "Private Stretch" that allows you to exercise without turning off the camera and without being noticed. "Follow Me" is useful even without standing - it allows me not to stay frozen in the middle of the screen. I can move to the sides while sitting and it will still show me in the center.
Wow that's cool. I was thinking that it was just a stupid reminder but the zoom functionality seems to be awesome. How does the Private Scratch function works thought? What people see on their screens?
@damsmaka Thanks Adam, we are glad you like the app.
Regarding Private Stretch: when you use the app, we keep the last few seconds of the video. When you click "Stretch", we start streaming those few seconds into Zoom, Teams, and others, instead of your actual video. We loop it back and forth, so there is no "stitching" and your video still looks live. You can now do your stretching or get yourself some water without getting noticed. In the app, we show what others see as a green shadow. This allows you to realign to the video when you want to join back. Most people won't notice since you get into the same pose.
As a bonus, we also make sure to mute the microphone when you do stretching and unmute when you join back. Other Zoom participants won't see you muted.
Hello product hunters!
Alex and I are excited to bring to you StretchUp.ai, helping all of us who are on endless video calls to fight “Zoom Fatigue”, reduce back pain, and stay healthy.
We are both in the tech industry, and StretchUp.ai started when we noticed that working from home meant that many meetings we previously had in person, where we could stand up and pace around, converted into endless Zoom calls. I started developing lower back pain, and I would try to remember to stand up - but was too lazy to remember often enough. When I did remember, my image on the video call was too small and distant. For Alex it was just hard to stay focused while seated on long video calls. When he would try to pace or stretch it just looked comical.
StretchUp is a virtual camera plugin for Mac and Windows. When you configure your conferencing app (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, WebEx and others) to use it, StretchUp uses Computer Vision to “see” your pose. Based on extensive research that shows the health benefits of breaking up long periods of sitting by standing up and moving, StretchUp reminds you to stand up if you have been sitting for too long. As you stand up and move, StretchUp dynamically zooms-in on your face to keep it clear on the video call. If you want to stretch in private, a “stretch” button allows you to do just that: it streams a short smooth loop of your last few seconds into the video call while you can stretch, get a glass of water or just relax for a second.
StretchUp has helped us be more mobile, my lower back pain is much better, and Alex feels more focused on video meetings. We hope it does the same for you.
Thank you,
Moe and Alex
