Yesterday @citizenglish hunted Gift Wrap My Face and through the serendipity of the Internet, I came across this lovely gem.
I can't remember the last time I stamped something but I still want one.
@MrAkshayPatel I'd seen a graphic designer make a stylized portrait of himself on a stamp and thought "I'd use one of those!". Unfortunately at the time I couldn't find anyone offering this as a service. It immediately reminded me of an illustration my then friend/not yet SYF partner Hannah had done for another friend of mine. I showed her the idea and asked if she'd like to experiment making our own. We loved the outcome of our first stamps so much that we wanted to offer this funny little service to others. With my background in photography and her drawing skills we set our sights on having a full brand/website/store up in 2 weeks, just as an experiment. We figured MAYBE in our wildest dreams the concept would generate enough sales to save for a European vacation, keeping our day jobs of course. 3 months later we didn't have time for our day jobs anymore and went full time SYF. We took money from sales and invested in our own laser engraver and took production 100% into our own hands. We haven't had a trip to Europe yet, but our stamps have traveled all around the world. Experiment, collaborate, create, that's all we originally set out to do.
