squido aims to include everything needed to build and deploy a static website. No time wasted learning frameworks, writing code and play around with deployment. You simply write content, customize style/layout, build and deploy.
Hi squido team! I am a big believer in static html websites and I love the name squido. I might have missed it but I couldn’t find any text about why Squido is different from the hundreds of other static website generators, what am I missing? Thanks
@galtashma Good question. We’ve used and wrestled with other static website generators before. We wanted to create something which is simple and easy to use by non-coders. We wanted to build everything into the core of the product so our users don’t have to write plugins, learn the ins and outs of the application and code to get a nice website up and running.
Thanks for the reply :) So if I understand correctly Squido is a DIY website builder (like square space, wix etc) that runs locally and builds a static website? Is there a demo of how to edit the site without writing code?
@galtashma It is a DYI website builder. You simply design your pages or start with one of our demo websites. You then write your content in simple Markdown format. You can then run: "squido build" and your website is built into static HTML which can be hosted anywhere. Some services like Github pages and Netlify even integrate with Github and will update your website as soon as you make a change.
Thanks for your feedback. Maybe we need to add a real end-to-end guide on getting a website up and running.
Looks very simple, can i import content trought json or google sheets?.
I think this could me help to improve my bad SEO web site: http://m.agendabiobio.cl/

My problem....i'm not developer. Only know basic coding aspects.
I hope you can understand me (i'm spanish speaker).
