Hi - I’m Ray, the founder of Spruce.
We think the majority of healthcare will eventually be delivered via telemedicine, and it's our goal to define the doctor’s visit in a world where both doctors and patients are interacting through mobile devices. We started by focusing on a single condition - the treatment of acne by board-certified dermatologists - so that we could be sure to deliver a comprehensive experience (more than a communication channel + MD network) that both patients & doctors would hopefully prefer to an in-person visit. We’ve received great feedback thus far, and today we’re extending the set of conditions users can be treated for on Spruce to a broad range of dermatological concerns. Skin concerns are #1 reason for doctor visits in US and yet there is a 29 day wait time to see a dermatologist, so we think the product tackles a big problem.
