SpotHero is a digital parking reservation service that connects drivers looking to reserve and pay for parking spaces with parking lots, parking garages and valet services.
It may sound too enthusiastic but I seriously think this model (for all sort of markets) as key behavioral change that will determine a new global economy. Sharing spaces and resources will be critical elements on dealing with a planet that is getting small for all this people.
@OurielOhayon -
Great question! Here are three different detailed approaches to answering that question:
1. Try it -->
May I suggest you download the SpotHero app (iOS or Android), claim promo code HUNT25 for $25 in free parking (this week), and try it for yourself? I'd love feedback at elan@spothero.com. We have a lot that's $12 for 12 hours, just 2 blocks from the AppsFlyer office so with that code you'll get two days of free parking on me.
2. Read what the press says -->
Here's VentureBeat's take on SpotHero vs. valet apps:
http://venturebeat.com/2014/12/0...
3. My (biased) explanation of the differences -->
SpotHero launched in SF 2 days ago, but across the USA we're the #1 ranking and #1 downloaded on-demand parking app in iTunes. Unlike Zirx & ParkNow who are primarily focused on SF, we're in 12 cities so you can use us when you travel to places like like NYC, DC & Chicago.
How we're different than ParkNow -->
1. Better UX - Compare spothero.com to parknow.com or look at ratings for each app. You'll see a major difference.
2. Bigger deals - For example, we're $10/day to park at SFO & they are $16
3. More options - While we have 50 locations for our beta launch, we generally offer 200-300 locations in major cities and we'll get there soon in SF as well
4. A+ customer support - Parking isn't always perfect, and we're here to make parking easy via email, phone & social media 7 days a week. Look at any review site and you'll see what I mean
How we're different that Zirx and other new valet apps in SF -->
- You can get better rates along with more extended hours. As I mentioned above, ~2 blocks from the AppsFlyer office we have a $12 for $12 hour rate. Depending on which valet app you compare that to, if you park daily at your offices thats hundreds or thousands of dollars of savings per year
- You can book a spot in advance. No worries that you'll show up last minute and a valet won't be available or timely
- You can park overnight. Valet apps don't allow it and charge a hefty fee. This is a big deal if you're in from out of town.
- You can choose to park with a garage, lot OR valet. Having a valet come to you isn't a feature we have in SF today, but we've tested a similar service extensively on the East coast. We've found most people like options.
- Believe it or not, there are some people out there who don't want some random dude to drive their car around the city all day. By self-parking, you know where your car is, you have immediate access and you have total control. A lot of people prefer that route.
- Here's an overview of Zirx vs. their valet competitors: http://parkingexec.com/valet-par...
At the end of the day, however, we're all solving similar problems and different drivers will prefer different services. I'd invite you to download the app, use the HUNT25 promo code before you park and please do email elan@spothero.com with your feedback so we can get better and better. Happy parking!
