SoSeeAL is the alternative to Instagram, TikTok, X and Snapchat. A clean and ad-free app to share Moments, Stories and Thoughts in one app. Chronological feeds, no algorithms, just real people and authentic content. It’s not just social. It’s SoSeeAL.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
We built SoSeeAL because social media today feels more addictive than authentic. Algorithms decide what we see, virality often beats meaning, and real connections are harder to find.
SoSeeAL brings back simplicity and intention. It lets you share Moments like Instagram, Stories like Snapchat, Thoughts like X, and videos like TikTok. All in one clean and ad-free app. Everything is shown in chronological order, with no algorithms deciding for you.
What makes this launch special is that it was built independently, with no outside funding. Just two co-founders driven by the belief that social media can feel human again.
We’re proud of what we’ve created and even more excited to share it with you. Let us know what you think. We’re listening.
How do you plan to overcome the network effect challenge, since people are more likely to join a social app where their friends and communities are already active, and convincing users to switch or add another platform can be difficult
@vouchy Thank you for this great question, Van de Vouchy. You’re absolutely right ! The network effect is a real challenge for any new social platform.
To tackle it, we’re focusing on four key strategies.
First, we’ve launched a referral-based affiliate program where each user gets a unique code they can share. When someone uses that code to sign up, they receive a discount on the Premium version of the app, and the person who shared the code earns a commission. This allows early adopters, creators, and community leaders to benefit directly from growing the platform, while giving newcomers an incentive to join.
Second, one of the Achilles’ heels of today’s social giants is that they’ve grown too big and lost the very essence of what made social media meaningful: sharing with real friends and chosen communities. Their feeds are now dominated by algorithmically suggested content, and people barely see what their actual friends post anymore. SoSeeAL goes against that tide. We keep chosen, human connections at the heart of the experience. Everything is shown in chronological order, with no algorithm deciding what you should see. This naturally appeals to the niche communities and users that big platforms have neglected in their pursuit of scale and ad revenue.
Third, we give creators more visibility. We’ve simplified content sharing by bringing together different formats in one clear and structured app. Users can post visual Moments like on Instagram, ephemeral Stories like on Snapchat, written Thoughts like on X, and vertical videos like on TikTok, all in one place. This gives users a cleaner experience and creators more ways to express themselves, without needing to switch between multiple platforms. SoSeeAL is designed around clarity, simplicity, and intentional sharing.
We know it’s a bold bet, but we believe people are ready for a different kind of social experience one that feels human again.
Thanks again for the thoughtful comment.
@rebecca_meyer Hey Rebecca ! Thanks you for your question.
Since SoSeeAL is ad-free by design, we focus on a freemium subscription model as our main monetization strategy. Users can enjoy the core features of the platform for free, while those who want more, such as access to advanced tools or account certification, can upgrade to a premium version of SoSeeAL called SoSeeAL Plus.
This approach keeps us fully aligned with our users rather than advertisers. It ensures that the platform stays clean, intentional and centered on meaningful interactions rather than attention-grabbing tactics.
In addition, our affiliate and referral program allows users and creators to earn commissions by helping us grow. It is a model that rewards the community, not just the platform.
We are not closing the door on the possibility of introducing ads in the future. If we do, we will make sure to share a fair portion of the revenue with all users, not only creators, because we believe in giving value back to the people who make the platform thrive.
