Snapceipt turns receipts into spending insights. Upload your receipts to automatically process receipt data and categorize line items. Understand your purchasing habits, track expenses, and gain valuable financial insights over time.
I built this web application because I had a hard time tracking my monthly grocery spending. Not only does manually entering receipt totals in a spreadsheet require more time and hassle, but it's also difficult to get insights at the receipt item level. Snapceipt automates this and makes it possible to get insights on receipt items.
I am also working on:
1) Improved Analytics - Compare prices to see if you bought a good deal from a specific merchant
2) Integration with popular accounting software and expense management platforms.
3) Additional currencies (Only USD supported currently)
Give me your ideas and feedback please! And let me know if you run into trouble creating an account or issues elsewhere.
Aaron, Snapceipt is a game-changer for anyone struggling with grocery budgeting! The automation of receipt item insights is impressive and saves so much manual work. I'm excited to see the upcoming analytics for price comparisons—perfect for ensuring I'm getting the best deals. Integration with accounting software will be a fantastic addition, making expense tracking seamless. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing multi-currency support soon!
Aaron, Snapceipt sounds like a game-changer for tracking grocery spending! The feature to get insights at the receipt item level is incredibly useful. I love the direction you're taking with improved analytics and integrating with accounting software—definitely a must for busy folks like me. Supporting multiple currencies will also broaden its appeal. Keep up the great work! I'd be happy to test any new features or give feedback as you develop further. 🚀
Congrats on the launch, Aaron! Snapceipt addresses a common pain point brilliantly. Automating receipt tracking to get item-level insights is a game-changer for anyone trying to manage their grocery budget efficiently. The upcoming analytics and accounting integrations sound promising. One suggestion: consider adding a feature to categorize items by food group or type. This could help users understand their spending habits better. Keep up the great work!
I have the same pains:
- having to manually log expenses into the app I use - one receipt can have up 20-30 items
- not being able to group separate logs into actual receipts if they were purchased together
- categorizing expenses with multiple levels, e.g. “dairy” category with “cottage cheese” and “cheese” subcategories
Looking forward to trying your app out!
By the way, do you think it will be able to recognize non-English receipts (I live in Kyiv, Ukraine)?
@dimoire A guy on reddit uploaded a receipt in Hebrew and it was able to translate the items to English successfully. However, I am in the process of allowing for more currencies (Only USD for now).
Thanks for your feedback and let me know if it works!
Congrats!
From my own experience, I always end up with a pile of receipts, hoping that one day I'll get around to organizing them. But the receipts keep accumulating, and I get too exhausted to sort them out, turning them into a heap of useless paper. I think this app will be incredibly useful for me.
Thank you for coming up with such a great idea!
