Small World makes it easy to make new friends and stay in touch with old ones. The app displays your friends' Twitter locations on a map, and it automatically notifies you when you're in the same city.
I built Small World to find interesting people when I travel. The app also notifies me when friends visit my city, reducing the number of missed connections.
There are a lot people I'd like to share what city I'm in, but I'm not ready to share my exact GPS location. Small World solves this by looking at your friends' Twitter profiles to see if they've shared information about upcoming trips, and it notifies you when they're in your city.
I built Small World mostly for myself, but I figured it would be useful to lots of other people who live a semi-nomadic lifestyle too! I plan to continue adding features, and so requests/suggestions are welcome: http://github.com/devonzuegel/sm...
I was just joking that we need a Zenly for millennials.
Now that everyone's working remotely and traveling more frequently, it's hard to know who's in town to hang. Clever idea to bootstrap this off Twitter data, @devon_zuegel.
