SliceQ is a restaurant management system that streamlines phone, in-person, and online orders. With SliceQ, owners can manage the staffing shortage and weekend rush while increasing revenue by over 10%.
Hey,
Nice idea to solve the mediator problem and it looks like solving the problem of the consumer where he has to download some app to order.
Some questions are,
1) How is profitable for the restaurant owner? Why he should come to you rather than being listed on some apps.
2) How does the customer know that the order is ready? is there any ETA you are showing up?
3) Any plans to open up the food delivery system?
Again, Congratulation on your launch and feeling the void in the market. Best of luck!
@rahul_rathod2 Thanks a lot.
Answers to your questions:
1) We provide a while label solution for online ordering which has no monthly fees, and no % commission.
When we order on any other third-party app, restaurant owners have to pay 6% to 15% commission even for a pickup order. Because we dont charge the restaurants for the online system, we get restaurants to guarantee that the online prices on SliceQ are same as in-store.
We only charge restaurants for the phone ordering system. Many restaurants stop taking phone calls on a weekend as they don't have enough staff. Even if they hire an extra person, the POS is busy as frontdesk has to give higher priority to walk-in customers. They’re forced to place phone customers on long holds and sometimes aren’t able to pick up the phone at all.
We reduce the missed phone and hence the missed orders, helping restaurants increase revenue. Restaurants owners can also hire remotely to take their phone calls for few hours during the busy weekend, helping them scale their staff.
2) For each order, when the restaurant accepts the order, the customer is sent a text with the ETA the restaurant sets. Customers also get a text when their food is ready. So customers don't have to wait inside the restaurant lobby.
3) No plans to get in delivery as of now.
We believe for long-term sustainability there has to be transparent pricing and a symbiotic relationship for all parties in the ecosystem. Currently, Restaurants are forced to increase the menu prices by an average 20% to make it work for them. Customers don't know the exact fees they are paying for the delivery service. The ecosystem seems little broken.
👋 Hi everyone!
@sgandhi and I are excited to launch SliceQ.
As restaurant lovers, @sgandhi and I encountered the same issues over and over again :
*Third party fees and inflated prices made ordering online expensive, and our favorite restaurants were losing business
*To avoid high fees, we called restaurants to order. But due to high volume, they missed our calls or we were put on hold
*First time ordering online is a hassle. We didn’t want to download an app, create an account, or have to manually enter our credit card information
*In-person dining took too long to get the server’s attention, place an order, and receive the bill
Having worked in restaurants, we know it’s not the employees’ fault. The system broke during the weekend peak traffic. We wanted to help restaurants scale elastically, just as we do for software. Thus, SliceQ was born.
SliceQ equips restaurants with an automated call-in system, contactless in-person dining and simplified online ordering. We help restaurants improve efficiency and earn more revenue.
We would love your feedback on the product! Support our partner restaurants on www.sliceq.com/producthunt.html by ordering using the code ProductHunt to receive a free drink or dessert .
Thanks✨
Hari
I happened to be at a restaurant to order and pick up food. There were about 4-5 people in front of me. I noticed this option to scan the barcode and place my order. The process took me less than 2 minutes and my order was ready while the queue in front of me was still being processed.
I found the notification updates quite helpful as well. I can see this being very useful at a busy restaurant for ex in a mall where I could place my order and continue with my other tasks and pick my order when it is ready, rather than waiting in line.
I love the concept.
@godeepakm Thanks a lot for your feedback. Yes standing in queue at the mall for the food sucks :)
SliceQ ==> Slicing the Queue. We will get to this usecase! Thanks
