What do you think? …

Ben Tossell
Can I ask what experience you have in creating startups that makes this curated directory a valuable one?
yas
@bentossell I wouldn't say this directory is to do with 'creating startups' per se but it should direct people who want to learn more about a field they are not used to. I've worked with startups for about 4-5 years and have come across many people who have self taught themselves skills that they now have made a career out of. Most of the resources on here were part of a personal list that I've been curating for 2 years. This is really just something I wanted to do for fun to get my self into the habit of working on side projects :)

@yasrostom only mentioned the startup focus from our previous conversation, thanks for clearing it up!
yas
@bentossell of course! I meant startup relevant skills but can see where the misinterpretation was
tombentleywatts
Looks great - love the interface - how did you shortlist the resources? From experience or by talking to the community?
yas
@tombwatts Thanks Tom! Good questions - so, some of the books were recommended by people I spoke to and some were found through a lot of personal research. There are also plenty of courses and books I have personally vetted too. Ideally, I want the community to recommend all the resources they have found useful when trying to self learn new skills

@yasrostom Nice I like the recommendations angle- I've got a few I can sling your way - DM me.
yas
@tombwatts Will do - thanks tom

Very cool - I like the range of skills on offer. Looks very handy and something I'll look at in the future when I'm looking to expand my skillset, nice job!
yas
@_chrisgreg Thanks Chris! feel free to recommend any resources you may have come across that you think would be useful to share!

@yasrostom Jon Ducketts other book about jquery is fantastic, as is Node Cookbook by David Clement if people are looking to improve their server-side JavaScript.
yas
@_chrisgreg Thanks Chris - will check these out :)
