Hey PH! 👋 I was tired of seeing completely irrelevant sensation-seeking news as the top news in both Google News and the news media. When GPT-4 came out, the top news in my country's biggest newspaper read "A pensioner was allowed to stay in her house". 🤷😠 The news media has clearly misaligned incentives - they sell views and clicks mostly, so, the more sensational, the better. The shorter, the better. The entertainment value might go up, but the news value goes down. At the same time, the news I get via social media like Twitter reflects my narrow interests but some bigger trends outside my interests often go missing. So, I played around with GPT-4 a little bit. It filters out top news headlines and tries to see which ones reflect actual trends. It then explains the trend/article with additional details. It's not perfect but I've been finding it useful myself. Can't wait to hear what you guys think :)

that sounds like a great idea! Definitely a really worthy problem to solve.. There is just no way a normal person can keep up with all the news thrown at us all day, especially with all the super unimportant stuff mixed in. Good luck with the launch!
