What do you think? …

This is a cool service. I tried at work.

Pros:

It is able to change the covers and text for links in social networks

Cons:

There is only one drawback - it gives a separate link, such as a bit ly, so in the preview you can see a link with their domain.

Thanks so much for giving it a try, Stas! Just FYI, our "agency"-plan allows you to use your own domain with ShareKit (e.g. links.yourdomain.com) so that your domain shows up in the link preview

Does ShareKit have the permission of Facebook to enable the link preview / customization functionality? It seems like a great product, but the $99 per month charge seems a bit steep for a small agency and I'm concerned that as soon as I pay for the subscription, Facebook will shut you down? Please advise.

Eh, I think that Facebook doesn't allow that anymore.... The news here : https://www.socialmediatoday.com... And the Facebook Forum page here : https://www.facebook.com/busines...

@emmanuel_b_lepage Hi Emmanuel, thanks for the feedback! The updated Facebook policies still allow editing the link preview of sites that are under your control (where you would also be able to achieve the same effect by changing the meta tags manually, but ShareKit makes the process much more seamless). The goal of Facebook's rule change was to combat the spread of fake news - social media managers aren't trying to misrepresent the content of the site they're sharing. To be on the safe side, you should only use ShareKit to customize the link previews of sites under your control (your website, blog, your clients' sites, etc.)

@nikozwitschert Thanks your answer is really clear. I'm still not sure, but I'll keep your product in mind :)

@emmanuel_b_lepage Oh my god! I can't believe Fake News is the reason they took it away. I always used to change the image for my podcast, and one day it wouldn't let me, and I never knew why. Thank you!

Hey Hunters, Facebook recently nuked the ability to customize link previews. This has had page owners and social media managers up in arms, because very few websites define the "Open Graph" tags necessary to make the link previews show useful info. ShareKit brings back the ability to edit link previews - simply upload your image and enter a title and description, and ShareKit will generate a new link that can then be posted to Facebook with a beautiful preview. You can edit the preview info later on, and even create multiple ShareKit links for the same URL to A/B-test different previews 👌. Please let me know what you think 😊!
