Say goodbye to extra cents with Save99, the ultimate Chrome extension that rounds prices to whole numbers! Unrounded prices ($99.99) create a false perception of cheaper deals.
OK, I love the idea but it seems it doesn’t work with European format prices. E.g. on Amazon.de, a product costs 42,87 €. That should be rounded to 42,90 but it’s instead “rounded up” to 4.290,00 € ! I suppose this is because the extension is look for a “.” thousands separator, but in Europe we use “,” instead.
E.g. ten thousand euro = 10.000,00 € (not 10,000.00 €)
EDIT: It's all of Amazon.de — not a specific page. Tried on Arc browser.
Love this! The first digit plays such a huge role, especially in today's hyper-fast world our brains have been trained to skim everything and the first number makes the biggest imprint on the brain while shopping. I can't even count how many times I've bought something thinking it was $20 while the reality was 29.99. You guys are on the right track this has a potential of being huge! best of luck!
Once, I was watching a YouTube travel video, and an author stayed in a hotel for a night at the cost of $399.99 USD. He even showed a receipt, indicating it was quite an expensive hotel. However, during the rest of the video, he mistakenly said it cost $300 USD.
After realizing that this kind of pricing misconception happens to me as well, I began to notice that I, too, consider an item to have a cheaper price if it ends with "99." Intrigued by this phenomenon, I decided to conduct some research, and it turns out this pricing strategy is called "charm pricing" technique. It leverages the way we read from left to right and how our brains tend to remember the first characters we encounter.
So, I thought, how can a person fight against that? Inspired by my frequent purchases on Amazon and other e-commerce platforms, I decided to create a small Chrome extension that rounds prices.
I believe it would be helpful for you as well. The extension automatically rounds prices to the nearest whole number whenever you visit an online store, effectively removing the impact of charm pricing. For instance, if an item is listed as $9.99, the extension would display it as $10. With this tool, you can make more rational decisions based on the actual value of the product rather than falling for the charm pricing illusion.
Now the extension supports only desktop versions for
Amazon(USA, UK, Germany), Ebay(USA), Walmart.

@realkunalmehta Thank you Kunal for your Ideas.
I will add multi-currency support and customizable rounding formulas for the next versions. Also I'm thinking to add these features for PRO version. Maybe for 1$/month
3. Yes, it shows the real price, if you hover on the yellow tooltip in the top-right corner
4. What do you mean by that? Could you please tell more
