Hello PH community 👋 Not a startup this time round, but a gathering of friends, playing around with stable diffusion, and creating a product out of it together in our free time. Available on the apple appstore as a one click install here : https://apps.apple.com/app/roll-... ❓Why are we building Roll Art Die We want AI art, to be accessible to as many people folks as possible. Especially non-technical folks. That means .... - making it a one click install on apple app store (remove any complicated technical steps) - avoid overwhelming the users (hide easily mis-understood toggles/options) - running it on accessible hardware (M1 Mac), without needing high-end GPU's - privacy friendly, running privately locally, not in the cloud This helps ensure that AI art generator, is accessible to everyone. Not as an always online SaaS, but just a good old downloadable software. 🤔 What are our plans after this launch? Ideally, we would want to grow this into the "AI art generator" tool for professional workflows, like photoshop. And this is a long way from there, feedback would be appreciated. Currently img2img is already working, but is pending feedback and the apple appstore approval pipeline (eta 3 weeks) ☝🏻How is this different from other stable diffusion product? 1) Not a SaaS (rare right?): This runs locally, and has no need for a recurring cloud subscription to work. There is no limit to the number of artwork you can generate after your installation 😉 2) Incredibly easy one click install via the apple appstore. This took more work than building the app itself (as of now) to get it to comply with apple app store strict guidelines. 3) Secure and privacy respecting. Everything runs locally, with zero analytics. This would be important once img2img is supported. Allowing you to safely use commercial or personal photos, without exposing it to the public. 🚀 Best of all: its free during our launch week for early adopters. Once you add it via the appstore, it's yours forever. Including all future upgrades. If you have an Apple Silicon Mac. Check it out and let us know what you think!

@picocreator thanks for bringing the world of AI closer to us with a free tool ❤️ are you planning to expand to windows OS too?
Eugene Cheah
@berkaydin : We tried with a small group of friends early on, and realised while it's not technically impossible. It's too big of a challenge for our team as of now. There were a lot of small setup issues for individual OS version / GPU model / Driver combos, which would currently fail the "one click install" ease of use process. And we really do not want to end up being tech support, asking people to run very questionable command line code and registry tweaks, with full admin rights, etc. So it's probably just a matter of time once the AI tech that is the foundation of this project, is made more mature and stable, we would approach the idea once again.

@picocreator Congrats, good luck 🚀 If you need some help with the logo and brand identity, feel free to contact me!

@pavell2l Ironically, we tried to use the AI art generator to create lots of different logo designs.... and they tend to suck. And somehow the team prefer the simple dice pattern we are using now 😊

@picocreator can this be made available for older MacBooks? I have a 2011 model, I'd love to support you guys.

Just last week I tried some mobile apps and Roll Art Die seems pretty cool already! And the fact that you made it free for early adopters 👌🏼 Congrats on the launch 🚀

@kartal_erkoc1 thanks! (as far as I know) most of the AI art generators on mobile, runs the processing on the cloud. On the plus side it makes art generation really fast to run on cloud GPU's, on the downside there is a perpetual running cost. For us because we wanted to do things differently, and we run everything locally, it literally cost nothing to distribute it out for free (no server hosting cost). Just dev time to build it 😉 This works well for us, as we want feedback from early adopters to drive this product, before we commercialise it potentially with future add-on's
