Revisions is a little Mac menu bar app that gives you a timeline of all editing activity in your Dropbox, lets you do diffs to see exactly what changed, and makes it easy to undo any edits (even edits involving multiple files). Useful to keep track of recent changes, and to restore if needed.
Here is a short demo video if you're curious:
I'd love to hear your comments and I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have!
Holy wow. The regular Dropbox menubar item is nice to see new or edited files, but the depth of info this provides about exactly what was changed (and when) is killer.
@jameskoole Thanks! Yup, I built this app largely because I became frustrated with the tools Dropbox natively provides: The Dropbox menubar recent files list is very sparse on what actually happened, while the https://www.dropbox.com/events page is not very easy to navigate or use either.
I don't think the interface in Revisions is anywhere near perfect yet, but I do think it's a decent start. I'd love to have a discussion on what works and what doesn't, and how to improve it.
The UI on this tool is a bit geeky and it would be great to be able to "watch" multiple, specific folders simultaneously. But this is a great start and adds serious value to Dropbox.
