Remind Me Faster
Quick-entry for Apple reminders
Remind Me Faster helps you get a task into Apple Reminders the moment it crosses your mind. It's designed to minimise friction and distraction. It complements the Reminders app that's already on your iPhone, instead of replacing it.
Hi, I’m Nick 👋. I created Remind Me Faster.
This app exists because it took too long to get something out of my head and into Apple Reminders (without talking to Siri - sometimes talking just isn’t convenient). The friction meant I’d often get distracted or not add things at all.
Remind Me Faster eliminates that friction. It aims to do one thing well: get tasks into Apple Reminders as fast as possible. It complements the Reminders app on your phone, rather than replacing it. Integrating with Reminders means you also get notifications that stick to the lock screen, which I believe still isn’t available to other apps.
Key features:
• Set time or date alerts using natural language - e.g. "Reply to Mike tomorrow 10am".
• Set time or date alerts with a tap, using preset times or durations.
• Set location alerts with two taps.
• Choose any list to add to.
• Set priority (• ! !! !!!)
• Lock Screen launcher widget
• Share sheet extension
• URL scheme support
• Alternative app icons
Most functionality is available for free, with some one-off IAPs for extra features.
Additional notes:
1. I built Remind Me Faster v1.0 ~8 years ago, and then posted it here 5 years ago. I’ve released many updates since then, including natural language support and location alerts. Recently I’ve refreshed the design/animations and added a share extension.
2. Many newer Reminders features (like tags and subtasks) aren’t available in Remind Me Faster because Apple’s EventKit API doesn’t support them yet. When/if that happens, I’ll add them. That said, I still personally use this all the time even without those newer features, so perhaps others will too.
I hope you find it as useful as I do. I've always got more planned, and I’d love to hear any feedback you have. Feel free to reach out here, or via the contact links in the app.
@lohith_ry Yep, always a danger, though that's been the case for 8 years and it hasn't happened yet. I imagine it will happen eventually but until then I hope people find this app useful :).
I'm an avid user of Remind Me Faster. I have all of the paid features.
Nick has developed the most polished version of the app over the years and has been consistently supportive of feature requests and bug reports. He was kind enough to compliment me, noting that I was one of the top users of the app based on the number of reminders I'd created.
I'd love to see a robust Mac version of this app someday. All the best.
P.S.: I hope the app doesn't get Sherlocked with the new Type to Siri with Apple Intelligence in the picture.
@remindmefaster
@krjsn Hello Krishna! Thanks for the comment and providing feedback over the years :D.
Would definitely like to develop a proper Mac app one day. Not sure when yet.
I've been wondering about the new type to Siri too. I'm keen to try it out and see how it compares in speed. Even if you're only using natural language for the reminder, my suspicion is that RMF will still remain slightly faster because Siri would need you to type "remind me to... " before your task, I expect. Then there's list switching, and the other fields. We'll see though! (and the new 'type to Siri' is certainly beautiful either way).
