Hi Hunters!
This is Ricky, founder of RefundCat.
I'am an iOS developer, I developed two Apps and got $5K MRR. I always annoying unreasonable refunds. There is someone subscripted my App, use it frequency, yet they request refunds after a month or longer time, even after subscription expired. Apple always approve these refunds, these unreasonable refunds makes me loss nearly $1000 revenue a month.
After an in-depth investigation, I found there is an official API provided by Apple, that allow developer to appeal every refund request, provided some extra information to help approve or decline a refund request. And I decided to have a try.
I call this API manually by Postman when I receive the notification that someone request refund, even if I'm going to sleep. Then the miracle happens, some refund requests are declined by Apple. In July and August, 9 of 15 refund requests was declined, that means I avoid nearly $1K revenue loss.
I think other iOS developers maybe also need this, and I also need a better sleep, so I decided to make the whole process automatically and build it into a public service, that RefundCat.
I posted RefundCat on Reddit, which sparked widespread discussion. The post now got over 120 upvotes( https://www.reddit.com/r/iOSProg... ), and RefundCat has already help iOS developer avoid over $50K revenue loss from unreasonable refunds requests.
Starting a startup is no easy work, and I hope that RefundCat can help more people keep more revenue from unreasonable refunds.
Best Regards,
Ricky.
