Hello Product Hunt Community! 👋 I like trying new brands and often sign up with the usual 10% off when I visit the website or use the app. But if I’d known someone who can refer me, I could get a bigger discount, they could get a reward too. Looking at forums or existing link / code websites often ends in frustration because they usually don’t work and are filled with ads. No one checks the code or the link 🫤 They also hide the referral behind buttons surrounded by click bait items. That's why a small group of us created RefKid to make sharing referrals with friends and family a genuine, rewarding, and safe experience. It started as a way to share our own referrals across family and discover new brands. Then we got other people adding their referrals and using ours (thank you)! As it grew, we took steps to make it a safe place: 1. Real People, Real Brands: We approve each referral and brand, checking it’s safe, relevant and valuable. 2. Fairness: Multiple referrals for brands from different users are featured randomly to give everyone a chance. 3. Data Privacy: We never sell your information, serve you ads or hide the referral link behind buttons. 4. Verified Users: Verified users mean actually verified users as genuine by us, not paid for. Hey nuric, How do you verify users to ensure they're "real people"? Do you have any features planned to gamify the referral process and encourage more sharing among friends and family? Congrats on the launch!

@kyrylosilin Thanks for the feedback and great question. At the moment the user verification is a manual process, one of us asks for and checks other online profiles they might have, valid email, and a captcha on a case by case basis. Even then, we check each referral everyone submits to make sure the links work, the brand is valid and has a description etc. We are thinking of adding badges for users for milestones which might gamify the process. Also, we would love to hear further thoughts / ideas 💭

This is a fantastic initiative, @nuric! RefKid seems like a breath of fresh air in the referral space. It’s such a pain to sift through unreliable codes and spammy ads on other platforms. The focus on real people and verified users really sets your platform apart! I love the idea of fostering a community where we can share and discover referrals without all the nonsense. The fairness aspect is also key; it’s great to see that multiple users can have a shot at promoting their favorite brands! I’m definitely going to check out RefKid and see what it has to offer.
