Attach your digital videos to any physical object around you. Whether you want to create a special moment for a loved one or reach a wide audience in seconds, RedTelly gives you the power to connect with them in a more intimate way.
Wow, this is really cool!
I totally imagine this eventually having a library of templates for different types of wishes; kind of like JibJab (https://www.jibjab.com/).
This is also going to be a game-changer for business gifting! Best of luck!
@raunaqvaisoha Thank you Raunaq! Yes, templates would definitely spice up our product 🤩
Also for business gifting, imagine if it was included in company swag with a video of the team welcoming new hires!
@farzod Exactly what I was thinking, employee on-boarding would be an interesting vertical.
Could be a part of different non-gifting workflows as well, such as when your bank sends you a new credit card. They could have video on-boarding explaining the benefits etc. and the customer could access it through the redtelly sticker.
There's lots to do here, you've got an exciting next few months ahead!
Hello Product Hunt! 👋
Farzad here, Founder of RedTelly. Thank you @robjama for the hunt!
After months of hard work, we’re ready to share with you what we’ve been working on. We hope our product can add some flavor and joy to this holiday season, and make people feel a little closer during our first-ever social distanced holiday season. We started working on RedTelly as a side hobby last year before the pandemic. However, we received amazing feedback from our friends and family, especially during these unprecedented times. So we decided to make it available to the world.
If you’re interested to know how it all started. Here’s our story:
A few years ago, I woke up to a tiny postcard under my bedroom door. Inside was a handwritten Thank You card that my roommate left for me before she moved out of my apartment. Instead of sending me a text message, she gave me a memento that I keep to this day. Her kind gesture inspired me to create RedTelly. These days, we can connect with our loved ones using text and video messages. There’s something special about videos that can easily tell a story using our voice and facial expressions. However, these mediums can feel temporary because we can't physically hold onto them, and they can be easily lost in our ever-growing photo album. To solve this problem, I designed RedTelly. We can't print videos (at least not yet!), so instead I decided to use a QR Code sticker to bridge the physical with the digital. It is an affordable and versatile piece of technology. I put it inside a vintage-looking TV picture to make it look like a static screen and be more aesthetically pleasing. Besides, it's a video in a TV frame! Makes sense, right? 🤓
A year after the concept was born with the help of my friend @haoguan_ we decided to make it available for everyone to use.
We hope you enjoy using it, as much as we enjoyed developing it!
