When it comes to money, we know everyone behaves differently. We’ve developed a money personality test, that’s been scientifically validated to give you more insight into your relationship with money.
Hello Product Hunt 👋! Nikos and Nafeesa here, co-founders of Quirk.
We’re excited to be sharing our money personality test that we created alongside expert academics and computational psychologists.
Discover your money personality through 25 questions that are based on well-known personality measures as well as money attitudes that will give you insight into how you think about money.
You can take the test now, for free, on our website and get access to a unique profile. It’s like 16 personalities / Myers-Briggs, but for your money! This is the first product we’ve launched and we’d love your feedback!
If you like the personality test, it’s part of a personal finance app we’re building that is currently in closed beta in the UK that combines personality along with your spending data to provide insights that will help you save money and decrease unnecessary spending. If you are in the UK and want to try out the app you can sign up for the beta here: https://servdes.typeform.com/to/....
Thanks, @remko_vermeulen! We're excited to share with people a new way of understanding their money! Yes, we have a UK mobile app that's currently in closed beta (you can join here: https://servdes.typeform.com/to/...) or drop your email in the website to get notified when its available for everyone!
Loved the idea of finding a money personality. The UI is nice and clean loved it. But I was kinda hoping for more.
I took the quiz and got the result that I am an optimizer and it gave me a description of my personality was Optimizer. Assuming that you nailed my personality the description still doesn't really match me completely. I think there are two reasons behind it
1. People can have different amounts of knowledge about personal finance. While some might be actively investing in ETFs some people might not even have a DEMAT account (spectrum grows larger as you move out of developed nations)
2. People are in different stages of life. I could be a 17 yr old High School Kid going to go to college for the first time, I could be starting my first job or second job or I could be a father of two who will probably retire in a decade or so.
This is where I think a huge opportunity lies. If you can help people with different stages and knowledge to do better in terms of personal finance with your products it could be a game changers cause people will be more open to your advice when you have just shown them from the test that you understand them better. If my thinking doesn't align with your vision please feel free to discard anything you have read :)
Good luck ! I am not in UK and would be really excited to check out the Beta if/when you go global :)
Hey @naimil_shah - thank you for the thoughtful response. I guess the "more" is coming via the app experience once it ties into your actual finances as well. The study we did that informed the personality test was a "representative sample" so it cut across age groups although the personas have a bit of an age bias - especially if looked at solely as descriptions. I think your feedback is super valid and we're looking at ways to capture the information that can in turn allow us to personalize the experience even better. At the moment the target audience is a younger demographic who is managing their money for the first time, but once we build on our model and insights we can expand to general adult population and your ideas around life stages become very valid there. Anycase, i also hope the app can reach you at some point as well! Where are you based?
@nikosmela All of this makes complete sense. I guess its better to get it right with one demographic first and then scale up to others.
I am based out of India
