Hi everyone!

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve opened a Google Sheet just to run a quick calculation, then either deleted it or left behind a trail of clutter in my Drive. So we decided to build a lightweight spreadsheet app that lives in the menu bar of your Macbook, coded it in public and hope it can help some other people as well.

QuickSheet by GnomeApps is a micro-spreadsheet app for your Mac’s menu bar. Instantly create, edit, and manage spreadsheets, perfect for quick office, budget, or data tasks. Compatible with Excel sheets and fully free for life.

Key Features:

- Free spreadsheet app, no ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases.

- Menu bar access for instant spreadsheet editing.

- No signup required, start using immediately.

- Detach from menu bar and use as a regular app.

- Keyboard shortcuts for fast actions; fully customizable key bindings.

- Supports common formulas for calculations.

- Copy and paste tables from other sources.

- All calculations stored locally; no data collection.

- Privacy-focused: zero analytics, no user tracking.

QuickSheet is built for speed, simplicity, and privacy. Your calculations are yours alone. Best of all, it’s free for lifetime with no hidden costs or in-app purchases.

This app is one of many free private apps we are launching (together with a close friend) under the name "GnomeApps" (https://gnomeapps.com).

nice work! Does Quicksheet support CSV import/export and basic collaboration (commenting or real‑time edits)? Any keyboard shortcut cheatsheet and a way to lock certain cells before sharing?
